On Monday, the Ohio Department of Transportation will start a resurfacing project on Abbe Road North in Elyria that is expected to last roughly two months.

The work will include resurfacing and construction on Abbe Road North from its intersection with state Route 57 north to the Sheffield border, Elyria Traffic Engineering Technician Jason Haas said in a release shared Thursday.

The project is expected to take 60 days to complete and the work will include milling and resurfacing of the roadway, deeper pavement repairs as needed, guardrail replacements, concrete curb ramps and new pavement markings.

"Motorists should expect delays during this time and are encouraged to use alternate routes," Haas said in the release. "Please use caution when traveling through the area as conditions will change daily based on work being completed."
