On the first day of Navratri, we honor Maa Shailaputri, the daughter of the Himalayas. She is
grounding, stability, and the raw power of Earth. She rides a bull, holding a trident and lotus.
Her energy is rooted in the Root Chakra. Color of the day: Red.
Blessing: May you be grounded in truth, steady as the mountain, and radiant in your courage.
Jai Maa Shailaputri.
Mantra: Om Shailaputryai Namah (Pronunciation: Ohm Shy-la-poo-tree-yai Nah-mah)
Embodiment: Walk barefoot on the earth, feeling strength rise into your root chakra. Chant her
mantra as you walk.

Today begins the 9 nights of Navratri — a sacred festival honoring the Divine Mother in her many forms. Each day we celebrate one of the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga, the fierce yet compassionate embodiment of strength, protection, and unconditional love.

🔱 Durga rides her lion, reminding us that true power is not domination, but courage guided by wisdom.
🌸 Each of her hands carries a symbol — weapons of truth and blessings of grace — teaching us that we can destroy illusion while nurturing life.
🔥 Over these nine days, devotees honor the cycles of creation, preservation, and transformation, calling in light to overcome darkness within and around us.

Navratri is not just a festival, it’s an inner journey — a chance to release fear, awaken devotion, and remember the indestructible goddess energy that lives in every soul.

The past few days have been heavy. Old wounds resurfaced, my nervous system burned, and the echoes of the past wouldn’t leave me alone.

But the peacock reminded me:
