Let’s clear up a few SPF myths. ☀️

I hear a surprising number of misconceptions about sunscreen—from “I don’t want chemicals on my skin” and “sunscreen causes cancer” to the belief that natural sun exposure is healthy, so SPF isn’t necessary.

I also hear, “My makeup has SPF” or “My moisturizer has SPF, so I’m covered.”

One application in the morning is not enough. SPF needs to be reapplied throughout the day. Having SPF in your makeup or moisturizer doesn’t change that.

And sun exposure isn’t limited to a beach day. It adds up through everyday life—driving, running errands, walking outside, and even spending time indoors near windows, where UVA can still reach the skin.

Finding an SPF you actually enjoy wearing makes consistent use and reapplication a whole lot easier. A few of my favorites:

Prefer a non-tinted SPF?

While I love working with the face—from advanced facials to manual lymphatic drainage and post-operative care after facial procedures—I believe in integrating whole-body care whenever possible.

Even the hands are part of a larger lymphatic system. When performing manual lymphatic drainage, I follow a structured approach that includes clearing the appropriate lymphatic pathways near the axillary nodes before progressing through the arms and toward the hands. Working in the proper sequence helps make lymphatic drainage more effective.

That same whole-body perspective carries into my facial treatments. Longer experiences allow me to incorporate more therapeutic elements beyond skincare alone, creating space to care for the face and body as a connected system.
