Apparently, Fall Has Been Postponed!

You may remember me sharing something like this earlier in the summer, but I thought it was worth bringing up again. If you live in Southern California, you already know why!

We’re heading into October, the calendar says fall, but apparently Mother Nature didn’t get the memo. With another stretch of serious heat ahead, our skin still needs a little extra attention.

💧 Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Hot weather and dry air can quickly dehydrate your skin. And while air conditioning feels like a lifesaver right now, it also pulls moisture from your skin. So keep the water coming and don’t forget to moisturize!

☀️ Don’t retire the sunscreen just because it’s October. SPF is still important every day. And if you wear JSM Custom Blend Foundation or Moisture Tint, you’re already one step ahead. Both contain SPF 50, giving your skin daily protection while helping you look your best.

😴 Get your beauty sleep, and yes, it really is a thing! Your skin does much of its repair and renewal while you sleep. A good night’s rest benefits your whole body, including your complexion. And remember, alcohol close to bedtime can interfere with those deeper, restorative stages of sleep.

Summer is one of the most enjoyable times of the year, but it's also one of the most demanding seasons for your skin. More sun, heat, perspiration, sunscreen, and environmental pollutants can all leave your complexion looking tired if you're not giving it a little extra attention.

A few simple habits can make a world of difference. Stay well hydrated, and make sure you're wearing SPF every day. If you wear makeup, apply sunscreen underneath, or choose a moisturizer with built-in sun protection. If you wear **JSM's Custom Blend Foundation** or **Moisture Tint**, you're already one step ahead—both contain SPF 50, giving your skin excellent daily protection while you look your best.

Another beauty secret that often gets overlooked is sleep. Your skin does much of its repair and renewal while you sleep, making a good night's rest one of the best skincare treatments available. Try to avoid alcohol for two to three hours before bedtime. While it may make you feel sleepy at first, alcohol can interfere with the deep, restorative stages of sleep and often causes people to wake up during the night or early in the morning wondering why they're suddenly wide awake. Protecting your sleep cycle benefits your entire body, and healthy, well-rested skin is one of the rewards.

Each evening, take a few extra moments to thoroughly cleanse your skin. Throughout the summer, pollutants, sunscreen, makeup, and excess oil build up on the surface and can settle into your pores if they're not removed. A gentle exfoliation once or twice a week can also help reveal brighter, smoother-looking skin.
