Red Hair color

Contrary to the belief that red color was given to us by Neanderthals, science has shown that it is a result of mutation of a gene in chromosome 16. Red hair has been represented in artworks of Michelangelo and not even escaped present day media scrutiny. It has always had significant standing in society. In Europe, red hair color is valued and respected. Nearly 10% people in Scotland and England have red hair color. It has been seen in Pakistan and some regions of Asia, though very rarely. In UK, red heads are bullied or teased with words like “ginger” which some consider as bad as racist remarks. In Germany, red hair color represents the devil; women with red hair and green eyes have been associated with witchcraft according to German folklore and also considered demonic or evil.

Personality traits of red hair color

Mysterious, romantic, passionate, alluring and fiery, people with red hair color tend to have different personalities. Explosive, bad tempered, opinionated, seductive or sexually promiscuous are some other traits seen in people with this hair color. Such individuals have increased levels of excitement on account of lower anti-stress hormone levels.

Blonde hair color

This is a very rare hair color globally, occurring naturally only in northern Europe and America. However, it has also been seen in nearly 5 to 10% of the indigenous population of the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific where the inhabitants predominantly have very dark skin. Until recently it was assumed that this hair color was a result of gene flow- trait passed on by ancient traders and travelers who visited different countries, centuries ago. Today, it has been established that a single gene is responsible for this, though the natives of Solomon Islands also attribute their blond hair color to a diet rich in fish, as well as sun exposure.

Females with this hair color are generally high maintenance. A survey has shown that the divorce rate is also higher in this category. Blonde hair color is perceived to be feminine, youthful, naive and obedient so yes, gentlemen do tend to prefer blondes.

Brunette hair color

Predominantly seen in Asia, South America and Africa, this hair color is considered exotic in Europe just like blondes and redheads are in the remaining part of the world. In a study conducted on a girl who visited a nightclub three times with her hair color changed from red, blonde and brunette each time; most men said later that they found her most appealing, attractive, approachable, dependable and “seemingly better at relationships” as a brunette.

Majority of Nobel prize winners are brunettes. Thus, they are very hard working people, but are also likely to give up at times. They are more serious and tend to form long term relationships. The likelihood of going bald is higher with this hair color and likelihood of being addicted to ni****ne is also more likely.

Just as men prefer blondes, women are known to prefer men with black hair. Deep, introspective and meditative, this personality type is serious and melancholic. While some people like to wear this type of bun out and about, others rely on it as a quick and easy way to get their hair out of their face when they are in a hurry.

Here is an overview of the twelve different hair types:

Type 1 – Straight
Type 2 – Wavy
Type 3 – Curly
Type 4 – Kinky
Now, let’s take a closer look at each of these hair types and the subcategories for each.

Type 1: Straight

If you have hair of this type, it is straight and may have a tendency toward becoming greasy and shiny. Straight hair becomes greasy faster than curly hair because oil from your scalp travels down the hair shaft more quickly. There are three subcategories for straight hair:

Type 1A – Most common in women of Asian descent, type 1A hair is very straight and fine.
Type 1B – Still very straight, type 1B hair is thicker with medium texture and more volume.
Type 1C – While still straight, this type of hair is very thick, coarse, and shiny.
Type 2: Naturally Wavy

Hair of this type has a natural wave, and it tends to be thicker than Type 1 hair. The subtypes are divided by the thickness of the hair and the shape of the waves. There are three subcategories for wavy hair:

Type 2A – This type of hair is very fine and thin with S-shaped waves – it is also easy to style.
Type 2B – A little frizzier than type 2A, this type of hair is wavy and medium-thick.
Type 2C – This hair type is wavy, thick, and coarse – it is prone to frizz and difficult to style.
Type 3: Curly

This type of hair is definitely curly – usually the kind of curl that goes straight when the hair is wet but goes back to being curly as it dries. Curly hair has clearly defined, springy curls and it tends to be easy to style. There are three subcategories for curly hair:

Type 3A – This hair has defined curls with a thick texture and a lot of shine but can be frizzy.
Type 3B – Hair of this type has tighter curls and may have a combination of textures.
Type 3C – This type of hair has very tight curls or kinks and is generally easy to style.
Type 4: Very Curly or Kinky

Hair of the very curly or kinky type has very tight, sometimes well-defined curls. It tends to be fairly coarse in texture but is also sensitive and prone to damage by heat and product. There are three different subcategories for kinky hair:

Type 4A – This hair is soft in texture with tight, well-defined curls or kinks.
Type 4B – Hair of this type has very tight curls, but they are less defined, soft, and fragile.
Type 4C – This type of hair has such tight curls that it may not even look curly at all.

Trimming your hair actually encourages hair growth. It may sound counter-intuitive, but the appearance of broken and split-ends not only damages the look and feel of your hair, but it also contributes to the appearance of shorter hair and thinner ends. Freshly cut ends also help to de-tangle your hair!

1.Wash oily hair more frequently. How often you wash your hair should be based on how much oil your scalp produces.

2.If your scalp is oily, you may need to wash it as often as once a day.
3.If you have chemically treated hair, your hair may be drier, so you may want to wash it less frequently.
4.As you get older, your scalp makes less oil, so you may not need to shampoo as often. But if you see flakes in your hair, you may not be shampooing enough. This can lead to dandruff and other scalp diseases.
5.Concentrate shampoo on the scalp. When washing your hair, concentrate on cleaning primarily the scalp, rather than washing the entire length of hair. Washing only your hair can create flyaway hair that is dull and coarse.
6.Use conditioner after every shampoo unless you use a “2-in-1” shampoo, which cleans and conditions hair. Using a conditioner can significantly improve the look of damaged or weathered hair by increasing shine, decreasing static electricity, improving strength and offering some protection from harmful UV rays.
Concentrate conditioner on the tips of the hair. Because conditioners can make fine hair look limp, they only should be used on the tips of the hair and not on the scalp or length of the hair.
7.Choose a shampoo and conditioner formulated specifically for your hair type. For example, if you color your hair, use a shampoo designed for color-treated hair. If your hair is damaged or chemically treated, consider a “2-in-1” shampoo. Regardless of cost, many shampoo and conditioner brands provide the same benefits.
Protect hair when swimming. Protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine by wetting and conditioning your hair before swimming. Wear a tight-fitting swim cap and use a specially formulated swimmers shampoo and deep conditioner after swimming to replace lost moisture.
