So here’s some good up-close-and-personal info about the Donna Bella Kera-link extensions. I had posted a before and after of my awesome client Alicia back in August. She wore her Kera-links for 4 months before she decided it was time to take them out. But she’s back for more!
So, wait a sec. Is it glue?
NO.

Keratin extensions are installed using a heating element which safely melts the Keratin Tips onto your own hair. This Keratin Tip is partially made of the same naturally occurring protein found in your hair.
A silicone additive on the K-tip helps to create a protective coating for your natural hair strands.
So this is a good thing!
Below is a video of installing a Kera-link extension. And the photos that follow are from Alicia’s removal back in November. As you’ll see from the very last photo - there’s absolutely NO DAMAGE done to the hair.
**Very Important!** Please do not do this yourself or have some random friend do it for you. This is a job for a certified professional only. There’s a lot more knowledge needed other than what’s going on in the photos.

These are a full head of I-link extensions by Donna Bella. I-links are the strand by strand method similar to the keratin fusion ones, but without using any heat, and just clamping each strand to the hair with a small bead. And just for fun, a pop of blue extensions made this just awesome!

Alicia came in and had done a lot of research on all kinds of extensions, and through our consultation, we both agreed on the Donna Bella Kera Links.

Keratin-bond individual hair extensions are strands of actual, human hair. Instead of being fastened with tape or glue, keratin extensions have small squares of keratin adhesive at the tip of every strand. Keratin is the stuff your hair is already made of, so for many, it simply seems like the natural choice.
The keratin melts with a melting tool to soften it and then it’s rolled between the thumb and forefinger into the hair, creating a strong but healthy attachment to your own hair.
(Personally, I love these extensions. I find they stay in the best out of all the other kinds.)
Pricing for Kera Link extensions is marked at $3.50 per strand. Alicia had almost 140 strands installed! And we chose wavy ones since her own natural hair had some waves.
Her upkeep is simple - brush twice a day to keep knots out, wear braided when sleeping, and use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Easy peasy!

Fun fun FUN with Rebecca today!! So lucky for me, I didn’t have much hilighting to do because Rebecca loves to play with bleach, so we started with virgin hair on the top 4 inches, the middle is I don’t really know what, probably some bleaching or coloring, and the bottom I think I may have done a bunch of years ago. And she had some fun faded orange already on the bottom so her inspiration pic was spot on. I went in with some baby lights on her natural hair - which are very thin natural looking hilights - and added that accent piece in the front, just hilighting her up to that middle color she already had. After that, the fun color began! Shades EQ by Redken in 05CC and 07CC for her top “half” and Pulp Riot Nuclear for her eye catching orange. Such a blast to do! ❤️ you girl! Keep rockin that orange! 😍
