In the past few days we have seen 3 cases of kids/teens with head lice. They have all been from the North Sanpete School District, but considering it is such a small community we felt it was important to post this notice. As hairdressers we must stop as soon as we see what we suspect to be head lice even if it is mid-service and have you leave. And then clean, bag, vacuum and sanitize. If you know or suspect that you have head lice DO NOT GO TO A SALON. We ask that if you are in or work the North Sanpete School district that you check you and your family and treat as needed. It’s a good idea to do regular checks on your family, and that you don’t share combs, brushes, hats, etc. We urge everyone in this area to check yours and your family’s hair. If you do find head lice it is important to let others that you have been around know as it spreads quickly. When checking take TINY narrow sections as you check. I’ve listed a link from the CDC below on treatment. Other things that we recommend is taking tiny narrow sections and flat ironing after treatment as well as adding tea tree oil to your shampoo or a spray bottle of water and spray it on yours and your kids hair.
