🤎 For brunettes we want to add rich dimension, which mean we actually have to add LIGHT for contrast. Here I hand painted balayage to create reflection, contrast and movement. It gives rich fall vibes without feeling over done or overly highlighted.

This is also why I personally prefer hand painted balayage on brunettes VS foils. It doesn’t take away from her beautiful natural base color, it just enhances it. -Nichole

Liz is a licensed cosmetologist and barber who is joining us as our newest Protégé. She’ll be working closely alongside me, with intentional education, mentorship, and hands-on experience as she continues to develop her craft behind the chair.

I’m especially excited about this next chapter because the Protégé program is about so much more than learning hair — it’s about building confidence, mastering the craft, understanding the business, and creating a career you’re proud of.

✨ 15 YEARS. ✨

15 years in business. 15 years of The Balay Collective. 15 years of creating beautiful hair, building relationships, learning, growing, and showing up—even on the days when it felt hard.

When I opened these doors 15 years ago, I could have never imagined where this journey would take me. There have been seasons of growth, seasons of uncertainty, big wins, hard lessons, and more blessings than I could ever count.

I’ve learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built in the small decisions, the early mornings, the late nights, the education, the investment, the perseverance, and most importantly—the people who believe in you along the way.

I’m incredibly proud of what The Balay Collective has become, but even more grateful for the people who have been part of the journey. My team, my clients, my family, and this community—you have all played a part in these 15 years. 🤍

And through it all, I know none of this would be possible without God. He has taken me places I never could have planned for myself and continues to remind me that His plans are always greater than mine.

15 years later, I’m still learning. Still dreaming. Still growing. Still creating.
