Introducing Melanie, owner of Mend.
“I came to a career in bodywork following my studies in dance at the University of Oregon where I earned my Bachelors of Science degree. My intense exploration of movement, breath, collaboration, and expression brought forward a mind body connection in my everyday experience in and out of the dance studio. I found that through massage I am able to guide others to this place of awareness, acceptance, and constant flow of shifting change that occurs within us all.

I appreciate focused work on acute and chronic injuries and affected structures as well as deeply healing relaxation massage. As a working LMT since 2007 with experience in both Spa and medical settings, I found a balance between the two that is ensures a truly satisfying wellness experience.”

•Why did you want to open your own practice?!
“I started Mend as a solo practice in 2016 and it slowly and organically grew to what you experience today. My vision is a community wellness center with a unique, caring and supportive client focus. Where every person who walks through our doors receives care that is tailored to their individual needs at the time. You aren’t rushed through your sessions. We listen and respond appropriately. You are guided to a place where healing will begin from within.”

•What’s your favorite thing to do outside of your practice?
“I love spending outdoor time on neighborhood walks, beach runs, and forest hikes with my little dog, Blue. She is truly an angel.”

•What’s a fun fact about you?
“I’m about to take my first ballet class after 20 years off. I’m terrified, yet ready to go in with a mature mindset and internal focus. Excited to express myself through movement in my 50’s!”

We're moving! We're excited to announce that as of February 1st we will be at our new location at 1663 High St. More space = More massage!

Hello Mend friends! I am excited to announce that I have two therapists joining me at the studio. Please welcome Gwen Kent and Cassie Cowen! As you well know, my schedule has been quite booked out and adding these two gifted LMT's has allowed for more immediate openings in the evenings and on weekends.
