Grateful Dread Hair & Makeup Artistry

Leonard has wanted Dreads for many years!! This week, I made that dread dream come true for him 🤘 He traveled from Salem to Eugene so we could do this NIN (Trent Reznor) inspired dread installation. Trent Reznor, who leads NIN, had dreads for some of his career back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Leonard & I have found that we have a very similar taste in music! We talked for hours about NIN, Aphex Twin, Radiohead, A Perfect Circle & more! It’s always wonderful to be able to connect with new Clients & share our passions for music and art with each other 🎶 We are super happy with this end result, it really fits his style perfectly! 👌✨

Luna has been coming in for Grateful Dread Extension work for a long time now 😊Recently, we installed a whole new dread hawk on her! I removed some locs & changed her part lines to turn her asymmetrical style into something fresh & new!✨ Luna travels up from LA regularly to get her beautiful hair maintained by me in Eugene! Partial Grateful Dread Installation on Shynelle 😍 Have you always dreamed of long beautiful dreadlocks, but are afraid to commit to a whole head installation? Partial Dread Installtion is the perfect way to test out the style without fully committing. I will admit that most clients start asking for another session while I’m installing the bottom, they love it so much that they generally continue to install more dreads over time. She has some of the most beautiful hair I’ve seen, a natural copper blonde with the perfect texture for dreads! Over time these dreads will thicken & mature. Looking forward to seeing how these dreads look in 6 months to a year! 😊👏

Brei traveled 3 hours with her adorable dog Bootsy for some Grateful Dread Maintenance! Her former stylist is no longer doing dread services, so she was ready to find a new Loctician! I’m very happy I could be here to help her out 😊 She has some pre existing extensions in her hair that were in desperate need of maintenance. She also had been cutting her own bangs & undershave, so she requested a fresh cut on those areas as well ✂️ I achieved this look by using a custom backcomb/crochet technique. I shaped, thinned, & texturized her bangs with a feather razor. I also re- parted her undershave for her & shaved it to the skin, removing some dreads around her ears that caused her discomfort. I couldn’t have had more fun with this transformation & enjoyed her & Bootsy’s company sooo much 🐾 ✨

Trina just moved to Oregon from Utah! She has stunning natural grey dreads 👌 She was having trouble finding a local Loctician that she could see regularly for Maintenance appointments. She had looked into 2 other salons, but really wanted to shop around to make sure that she chose the best place. Her previous stylists had tried various techniques on her hair including latch hooking & interlocking (these techniques are not recommended, & over time can damage the strength of the dreads) Luckily, I was able to get her back on track & start crocheting them for her.
