After much consideration, I've decided to LOWER the prices on most of the products currently in the LBG store. It is difficult as a small business owner to set "reasonable" prices for consumers (and make a profit) when you must foot the bill on every material to make, package, and ship products—and make them by hand. Many of the brands you buy from are able to sell products at lower prices because they are multimillion dollar entities, with exuberant profits to eat the cost of production (not to mention, they usually don't pay their workers a decent wage for their labor).

But, by entering a crowded niche on Etsy with already-successful sellers listing products at low prices, I find myself unable to entice folks to spend the prices I formerly set. In the end, it's more important to me that you all feel these products I've put so much love and intention into are ACCESSIBLE.

The Spring Sensation buttercream is now available in the LBG store. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, there are some key differences between this body buttercream and the ones sold previously. The ratios of fixed oils (shea butter and coconut oil) to liquid oils has been changed. Additionally, this formula is EXTRA WHIPPED, so you'll find it forms a lighter layer on the skin and absorbs more quickly!

A permanent follow-up to the Valentine's Day lotion bars, these contain cocoa butter and are much more rich and soft to the touch. The scent is an intoxicating jasmine mixed with the natural aroma of cocoa butter.

🌘SECOND SLIDE:(Vegan) SAVE-ME SALVE
The star of this product is the herbal oil infused with chickweed! Use it for your everyday cuts, scrapes, burns, etc. This is also a softer formula than the astragalus root salve, thus it's lighter on the skin. The scent is a subtle clary sage essential oil. It also uses carnauba wax rather than beeswax to make it vegan!

♠️IN MEMORIAM SALE♠️
Last Saturday was my dad's 74th birthday. This is the third birthday I've celebrated without him.
I think of him often on my small business journey, because my dad was an entrepreneur himself. My only memories of him working, before he retired to be around the house with me in elementary school, were of him driving me and my mom around in our van to cleaning "accounts" as he called them. He started his own cleaning business, in his 50s, without the internet (or even knowing how to use a computer!!!) and made it successful to provide for us. He bought all of the cleaning equipment himself, built a client base, and created his own special blends of cleaning liquids. The business was short-lived, but I've always admired his self-starting attitude. I love that I never remember my dad working for anyone but himself. I wish I could ask him for advice on doing the same now, but I know he's watching over me.
