TallGrass Aveda Spa and Salon

♥️ Hello, wonderful community! We’ve started receiving donations for our backpacks for homeless vets and we are just thrilled! The outpouring of love and support abounds. Three and a half more weeks of collection before we sort and pack. Please join us!

💙 Sorting: Thursday, November 5th @ 5:00pm
♥️ Packing: Friday, November 6th @8:30am

💙 On our initial post we received some comments that suggested that what is needed is housing not backpacks. We agree! We value all opinions and understand that people want better for our Veterans. If we could give each and every one of them homes, we would! No one should have to live on the streets, especially the men and women who have served our country. That said, we know that every act of kindness is meaningful and impactful. And doing nothing just because it doesn’t singlehandedly solve the entire problem is not an option.

♥️ In conjunction with, and on the advice from, the Volunteers of America Bill Daniels Veteran Services Center – an organization dedicated to helping Veterans – we came up with this backpack program. (It truly isn’t something we just made up to maybe try and help). The team there has expressed how grateful the homeless Veterans are when they receive these backpacks and supplies. These backpacks reach far and wide, many to rural areas where services for Vets are few and far between.

💙 Not only do we want to shine a light on this persistent issue, we also want these Veterans to know they are seen, we value their humanity, are grateful beyond words for their service, and that we support them. This is how we, a Day Spa in Evergreen, Colorado, along with our amazing community, are choosing to do that.

♥️ So, to those who chose to find and focus on what we aren’t doing rather than the light and hope we are trying to provide, we challenge you. We challenge you to find a better way to help. Share with us what you are doing to address this issue, and we will try to support you. Or you can always contact the Bill Daniels Veteran Services Center to see what they need, too!

🇺🇸We hope to see and thank you as you drop off donations, and/or at our sorting and packing events. They are sure to fill your heart.
