What My Garden Taught Me About Purpose
By Nadine Thompson, Founder & CEO of Soul Purpose
Bright green seedlings emerging from rich dark mulch soil in spring
There is something quietly miraculous about a garden in May.
This morning, I walked outside with my coffee — the air still carrying that cool, dewy freshness that only belongs to early spring — and I stopped in my tracks. Right there in the dark mulch, pushing through the earth with absolute certainty, were my plants. Not asking permission. Not waiting for the perfect conditions. Just growing.
I stood there longer than I probably should have, because I couldn't help but see myself — and every Soul Purpose sister — in those tiny, determined shoots.
The Seedlings That Don't Know They're "Small"
Lush cluster of lily shoots bursting upward from dark garden soil
The first thing I noticed were the bright green seedlings — serrated little leaves, barely a few inches tall, nestled in the rich dark soil. They don't know they're small. They don't compare themselves to the oak tree down the street. They simply do what they were created to do: reach toward the light.
How often do we hold ourselves back because we think we're not ready? Not big enough, not experienced enough, not enough enough? These seedlings reminded me that every magnificent garden — and every meaningful business — begins with something that looks impossibly small.

At Soul Purpose, we believe that every woman carries within her the seed of something extraordinary. Our botanically-based, all-natural products are a daily reminder to nurture yourself — because you cannot pour from an empty vessel, and you cannot bloom if you never tend to your own roots.

Grow Thrive Bloom and Kintsugi
Welcome to Grow Thrive Bloom and Kintsugi — a space where the garden meets the soul. Here, I'll be sharing images from my garden alongside affirmations, journal prompts, and kintsugi-themed reflections that honor the beauty in our broken places and the gold that fills our cracks. Like the Japanese art of kintsugi, we are not diminished by what has shattered us — we are made more luminous. And like the garden, we are always growing, always reaching toward light. I'll post as the spirit moves me — daily, weekly — and I invite you to do the same. Share your garden photos, your affirmations, your prompts, your reflections. This is a community space. Let's grow, thrive, and bloom together.
