I hear this story often:
“I was in a wedding and the makeup artist made me look like my face had so much makeup on, I could see every line, wrinkle and my pores were so noticeable. I hated it and took it off after I got home.”
I’m so empathetic when I hear these stories. Not only do I have to put the person at ease, I also have to restore their faith in makeup artists as myself and for future artists.
The common complaint that I hear from clients about their previous experiences is that they received little to no skin prep before their makeup was applied. That is what makes the difference between natural looking skin, and dry, cakey, flaky makeup that emphasizes the skin’s flaws.
Every client that books a studio session with me is allotted 90 minutes. Not that it takes the full 90 minutes to complete someone’s makeup - it can usually be done in 45 minutes for a full glam. But the extra 45 minutes is for me to do a 10 minute skin and makeup consultation, listening to your concerns, the vision you have for your look, and seeing any inspiration photos that you may have brought. 5 minutes before your session for you to settle in and get comfortable - water, tea, coffee, and Rosé are always available to our guests in the studio. And the first 30 minutes before makeup is spent on just preparing your skin with a mini facial.
-Exfoliation using gentle AHA & BHA solutions.
-Cleansing to remove all dead skin, impurities, and remnants of makeup (old liner, mascara).
-Nourishment using serums to hydrate and plump dry skin or oil control oily skin.
-Moisturize to balance oil and water to ensure skin feels comfortable all day under makeup.
-Prep using primers on skin, eyes, and lips to ensure makeup stays on all day and skin appears smoother.

All these extra steps along with professional products and tools and an experienced makeup artist are what deliver exceptional results.

Our Eyes Only service focuses on the eyes for added drama. Perfect for those who prefer to do their own face makeup, or for clients who would like to keep their face masks on during their service.

Includes: Eyes, Eyebrows, Lashes, Light Concealer Touch Up. 45 Minutes.

Some Fall vibes for this beauty who showed me an inspiration photo of a dramatic eye, and wanted it customized to her leopard print dress that she would be wearing to an event. Playing on her very blue eyes, I chose a warm and vibrant earth tone and voluminous, yet, wispy lashes so they would compliment her eyes without overpowering them. We were both so happy with how her look turned out. 🐆

Our last wedding of the season and closed it out with a bang when my beautiful bride said “I trust you to do me up!” And this was the amazing result we ended up with!

Backtrack, we didn’t get to do a trial 😳 The Bride had booked us last minute in October, and had a FaceTime call to first meet before her trial. On the morning of her trial, there was a family emergency and she ended up having to cancel from the hospital.

With everything that went on up until the day of her wedding, we really were so overjoyed to get her married and counting the blessings from what could have been a tragic story. I assured her that I am going to glam her up because she truly deserved to enjoy and celebrate her day after all she’s been through the past month. After I was done with her makeup, I stepped back, and I nodded my head.
I said, “Ladies, I think she’s ready for her wedding.”
And they all surrounded her and cheered.
It was time.
The limo had arrived.
The girls were all ready by 11AM.
Ready to go.

This was such a sentimental wedding for me, and I couldn’t help but hug her after. She had just been through so much and I felt like it was my duty, to make today the one day, that it was going to be about her and let her feel gorgeous in her own skin. She told me she doesn’t wear makeup, and works nights in a factory. She wanted to feel glamorous on her day in her dress.
And ladies, I think we did it! 🤍

Yesterday’s wedding marked our last official contracted on-location wedding to close out our 2021 Wedding Season.

This year was one of the busiest wedding seasons that I have ever worked with re-scheduled events from 2020 and bookings going back from 2019.
