I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. It reminded me that it’s the season for everyone to throw some SUNSCREEN onto your fresh and old tattoos OR skin about to BE TATTOOED! I have some in shop if you need some good mineral sunscreen to protect that artwork.

The more we are in the sun, the more it breaks that beautiful ink down under our skin.

Unique, floral, Deathly Hallows tattoo with an earthy vibe to it.

All color tattoos are definitely fun but always a good challenge to develop contrast with colors that will hopefully last a lifetime.

As stated by my lovely client last night in the midst of a particularly painful part of the tattoo.

A basic, simple cross representing an old, outdated religion? Not even close.

3 nails, used and reused during the Roman Empire as a common death sentence used in a crucifixion. Showing the beatings of what even the nails had gone through by the time they were used on Jesus Christ. He was completely innocent but a willing sacrifice to cover all of our sins. The nails were representative of our sins that held Jesus to the cross until death. They are a reminder of what He did for us, a reflection of gratitude that we can have for His sacrifice, a start of a new relationship we can have with God now that our separation with Him has been made whole. Soon after that was Christ’s resurrection from the dead, which gives us victory over sin and death through Him.

That’s what these 3 nails represent.

It’s always bittersweet finishing a full arm sleeve or back piece. You invest so much time and effort drawing and collaborating, regular sessions every month, adjusting and perfecting as you go along. It’s such an on-going process — it’s weird to finally be finished.

The concept is the balance and constant battle between your brain (everything methodical, logical, precise) and your heart (anything beautiful, inspired, random, even chaotic). There’s a perfect balance between them both. This piece shows cutouts of the geometric precision to show random beauty in nature, sometimes in unexpected places. And the colored beauty trying to spill over the rest.

The photo with the half brain/half heart full encapsulates the concept of this.

Live in VICTORY. We have to choose it everyday.

Always cool getting to work with friends. This was the perfect combination of having a pre-made design/artwork from my client but getting to modify little things to make it tattooable. Thanks B.
