Beautician Ambition

The one thing that always makes my load feel lighter is my clients. I carry a lot on my own silently, and I think in the service industry we forget sometimes that we’re human first.

Having to text clients to reschedule because my little baby boy (which feels wrong even calling him that because he’ll be FOUR this year 😭) always comes with guilt and anxiety. I hate feeling like I’m letting people down, wasting their time, or let alone passing up income as a single mother.

Some of you were there when I announced I was pregnant. Some of you might not even know I have a kid. And every single one of you met me with nothing but understanding.

“Oh no! I completely understand.”
“ Girl I get that , Go snuggle him.”
“Oh no worries at all.

These are real responses that I was met with today. When I was feeling like such a failure for missing my class, my clients, the gym... They made me remember: that’s exactly how I would meet you. Flexible. Full of integrity. Care. And I should show myself the same level of compassion. Because if my clients can meet me where I'm at, why shouldn't I also meet myself there?

Thank you for reminding me that choosing my child will always be the right call. If you’re someone I texted today to reschedule, thank you. Truly. Thank you for being flexible, kind, and for choosing me to be your service provider.

It means everything to me. I had such a difficult day, and being able to release the burden of feeling like a failure to my clients meant everything.🤍
