Have you been told not to put conditioner at your scalp?

What if I told you that not conditioning at the scalp could be the cause of a common problem?

We've been told conditioner at the scalp weighs your hair down and makes it oily.

What you're not told is that NOT conditioning could be the reason for your dandruff.

Shampoo raises the pH of the hair and scalp to get in and properly clean and remove buildup.
Conditioner is what re-establishes the correct pH level and prevents those dry flakes and maintains healthy hair and scalp.

If your conditioner is making your hair feel oily and heavy its because you aren't using the right product for your hair type.

So if you have a dry scalp, conditioning is necessary to correct this. And just as important as the conditioner itself- so is using the right kind for your hair type.

So if you having either of these issues, let's chat!

This is a BIG WEEK and I'm celebrating big because....

It's Artisan Hair Studio's

🎉10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!!🎉

10 years ago I took a leap and decided to create my own business and there are SO many reasons to celebrate and I wanted to share a few:

1. I truly get to work with the kindest and most caring clients. When I started the studio, my vision was to create a cozy, welcoming space that reflected my goals and desires to provide the best hair services and express how much I value each client. I am so lucky that you all have seen the vision and have continued to support me year over year.

2. I get to live out my passion through my job. Color formulating and creating precision haircuts full my creative cup SO FULL!
I love learning the newest techniques and I could talk hair for hours and hours. I'm so lucky to get to work in a space that allows me to do just that.

3. The most unexpected joy of this job is watching my clients and their families grow. You've shared your children, pets, everyday life and special life moments with me and it is such a blessing that brings me so much warmth and joy.
Creating meaningful relationships that make you all feel comfortable to continue to trust me to provide you with the best hair care is something I will never stop being amazed by.

There will never be enough words to express how thankful I am that your support over the last 10 years has allowed me to have a career I love.

So cheers to you all!!!

Let's start the week long celebrations!

Confession:

I'm a book-reading, podcast-loving, TV show-binging kinda lady and I've got to share just a few of my faves with you:

- "By Any Other Name" by Jodi Picoult = tells mother story of 2 women, one in 1600's and one in present, who are writers and have to use male surnames to get their works published. A little historical fiction paired with a great story!

- "Grace Not Perfection by Emily Ley" = talk about ways to love who you are and what you have and that mistakes are ok and part of life. Helped me to accept myself just as I am while making changes in ways that are important to me!

- the "How I Built This" podcast = stories of big business and they story of their origin and the people who created them - so interesting!

- "Apple Cide Vinegar" on Netflix = tells the story of a women in Australia who lied about having cancer and built a business based on that lie. Eventually her lies are discovered and the fallout that follows is crazy!

Okay, so go ahead and all of those to your list right this second and then comment below with some inspiration for some fresh reads, listens or watches!
