Deeper pressure has its place, but there's a difference between working with tension and forcing your way through it.

Your fascia, muscles, and nervous system are all connected. When you're holding your breath, clenching, or bracing against my hands, I'm paying attention.

Fascia responds to movement, pressure, and the forces placed on it. But more force doesn't automatically mean more release. Sometimes slowing down and allowing the tissues to adapt is far more beneficial than trying to force a change.

Intense pressure might feel good in the moment, but creating unnecessary irritation or inflammation doesn't mean better results long term.

My goal isn't to see how much pressure you can tolerate. It's to work WITH your body, not against it.

Sometimes less really is more. šŸ¤

Okay, jokes aside šŸ˜…

this is just a little reminder that when you book an appointment with me, that time is reserved just for you. I plan my day around each appointment, prep the room, products and treatment, and I’m here ready when you arrive.

I completely understand that life happens. Traffic, running late, unexpected things… I get it. šŸ¤ But please give me a heads up as soon as you know you’re running behind or can’t make it.

And a gentle reminder that my cancellation and no show policy applies to appointments that are missed or cancelled last minute.

I’m always happy to work with you when I can. I just ask for the same respect for my time that I give to yours. šŸ¤

A little calming before and after.

Sometimes you don’t need another thing to think about.

You just need 60 -120 minutes where someone else is doing the thinking for you.

A little facial massage, scalp massage, neck and shoulders, some deep breaths… and a chance to actually switch off for a while.

That’s one of my favorite parts of what I do. Watching someone go from ā€œI have a million things to doā€ to completely relaxed.

If your brain could use a little quiet time, come let me take care of the rest. šŸ¤

Microcurrent is one of my favorite little extras to add to a facial.

It uses a gentle electrical current that mimics the body’s natural electrical signals. Depending on the setting, I can use it to help relax areas of tension or educate the muscles to support better tone and a more sculpted look.

I especially love using it after facial massage. Once I’ve spent time working through the face, jaw, neck and scalp, adding microcurrent is just another way to build on that work.

It’s subtle, but there’s a lot of intention behind it.

And honestly, I love when a treatment can be customized based on what your face needs that day. šŸ¤

I really should film more behind the scenes. šŸ˜‚

But when I’m working, I’m working.
When I have a break, I’m enjoying my break.
And when I’m off… I’m OFF šŸ˜‚

Solo esthetician life.

September 11 will forever be a part of me.

25 years later, I can still remember that morning so clearly as clear as the sky was that day.

I was in my first week of college in Brooklyn, with a direct view across the river to the buildings.

Just that summer, I had interned at the World Financial Center where my mom worked. My internship had ended the week before September 11.

I remember seeing the first plane hit.

Then the second.

At first, I didn't put it together. I remember thinking, how could this be happening?

It wasn't until I saw the buildings begin to crumble that it hit me.

My mom was there.

I completely lost it.

I ran down the halls, screaming, trying to find the nearest office with a phone. This was a time when neither my mom nor I had a cell phone. I finally found a phone and tried calling her job, but all I remember getting was a busy signal or nothing at all. The rest of that part is honestly a blur.

I couldn't get in touch with her.

I left my class and went straight home to Queens, hoping and praying I would see my mom.

No one in my family had heard from her.

That was the day I truly thought I had lost my mom.

Luckily, that morning her bus showed up late.

Because of that delay, she came out of the subway just as the first plane hit. She ran into a shoe store with a group of other people for safety.

When the buildings began to fall, she ran.

And she kept running.

A taxi driver was picking people up and ended up driving for hours, bringing people as far away from the chaos as he could. My mom didn't make it home until that evening.

I will never forget that moment.

It was bittersweet.

Sweet because I had my mother back.

Bitter because of the unimaginable loss our country experienced that day.

September 11 taught me things I carry with me to this day.

Cherish the people you love.

Don't take a single day for granted.

And never complain when a bus, a train, or anything else makes you late.

Because sometimes what feels like an inconvenience might be the very thing protecting you.

I don't know if everything happens for a reason, but I do know that I will always believe my mom's late bus was something more than just a delay.
