I am so particular about lashing every single lash. I don’t consider a set full unless every natural lash has an extension on it💃🏼except the literal peach fuzz, because there isn’t enough lash there to attach to.

The key is knowing the proper weight and what each natural lash can hold.

Not knowing how to place lashes correctly, how much weight each natural lash can safely hold, or how to find and pull apart stickies could be costing you clients.

Most people aren’t going to call and tell you their lashes are uncomfortable. They’ll just book with the next lash artist, and you’ll have no idea why.

Understand the natural lash. Understand the extension you’re putting on it. And check your work after every single set. It’s non-negotiable.

It’s not all about how your lashes look. It’s about how they feel. It’s about the experience your client had when they were with you.

If your clients get home and their lashes are uncomfortable, if they’re pulling, they’re itching, they’re hard to brush through, or her lashes start popping off immediately, your client’s not going to want to come back.

And say all of those things were great, but your client laid on the table and the vibe just wasn’t good in your room. It was super loud and distracting. She couldn’t relax or get comfortable. Your bed was cold and hard. The conversation felt awkward.

I mean, all of these things play into the luxury experience that lashes should be. And if you’re not meeting those expectations, clients aren’t going to return—especially when there’s probably another lash artist a mile or two down the road.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to say it: red, irritated eyes are not normal. They should not be the standard after a lash appointment. As lash artists, we need to do better. 🚩
