I have been "dyeing" to try this for so long and am super excited to finally start creating with this. I'm using 100% cotton and used alum, also known as aluminum sulfate or aluminum potassium sulfate, for the mordant.
This process allows the dye to bind to the fibers so that the colors don't wash away as easily.

Finally getting around to pickling these cucumbers from our garden.
I used the following ingredients for the brine:
8 pickling cucumbers
2 cups water
2 cups distilled white vinegar
¼ cup organic cane sugar
2 tablespoons sea salt
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
1 teaspoon of peppercorns
1 tablespoon of dill
(use a couple of sprigs of fresh dill if you have it)
