I’ve had many people ask me when they get injuries what will happen to my nail?? Will it grow back? Will it grow back normal? Etc.
Reality is, if you damage your nail plate/bed, it really depends on the extent of the damage and what kind of injury it is. If you damage your matrix(the “root” of the nail) there is always a slight chance it could grow back a lil wavy or have an abnormality BUT best case scenario like so, if you let them heal and grow, leave them alone and take care of them, most of the time it will grow back just fine. The growth cycle for the nails are 4-6 month for the full nail plate.
