I began with AG Care COLOUR SAVOUR Shampoo + Conditioner to gently cleanse, nourish, and help protect her fresh color from fading.

For styling, I applied SET IT STRAIGHT Argan Straightening Lotion for smoothness and frizz control, followed by DEFLECT Fast-Dry Heat Protection to help shield the hair from heat while speeding up drying time.

After curling, I finished with THE OIL Argan Smoothing Oil for softness and glossy shine, then added TOUSLED TEXTURE Body & Shine Finishing Spray for that final touch of body, texture, and movement. 😮‍💨✨

Healthy hair will always come before how light I can get you. 🤎

For this transformation, I used Moroccanoil Professionals Moroccanoil Blonde Voyage Clay Lightener with 20 volume for her Full Rëzo Lites and kept a close eye on the hair throughout the entire process. Because she had virgin hair, she lifted beautifully and fairly quickly—about 30 minutes at most.

I started in the back intentionally. That way, as those sections reached the level I wanted, I could begin rinsing them instead of allowing them to continue processing while I waited for the rest of the head.

But lifting isn’t just about watching the clock. I’m constantly paying attention to porosity, texture, elasticity and how the hair is responding to the lightener.

Her hair already tends to be on the drier, more porous side—it absorbs moisture quickly but also has difficulty retaining it. So my goal wasn’t to push her as light as possible. It was to create beautiful dimension without unnecessarily compromising the cuticle or taking more moisture out of the hair.

After lifting, I toned with Moroccanoil Professionals Moroccanoil Color Calypso Demi-Permanent Gloss to neutralize and refine the warmth while helping bring the hair back toward a healthier pH and smoother cuticle state. We followed with a hydration treatment to replenish much-needed moisture.

For styling, I kept it simple with AG Hair AG Mousse + Gel for definition, mixed with AG Re:coil Curl Activator Cream for added moisture, definition and bounce.

Her hair has multiple curl patterns and textures—the top is much looser, while underneath she has a tighter, coily 4A texture with significantly more shrinkage. I used the hover-diffusing method to dry her curls with minimal disruption.

For the tighter sections underneath, I wrapped them with a hair mesh while drying to help control shrinkage, maintain length and gently stretch the curl without disturbing her natural pattern. This allowed the different textures to dry more cohesively while still respecting what each curl pattern naturally wants to do.

Because sometimes a great curly finish isn’t about making every curl behave the same—it’s about understanding what each texture needs. ✨
