A Janet Lynne Salon
Where your outer beauty and your inner balance becomes our purpose! A Janet Lynne Salon was established in 2002 in a small location on Amelia Island.
With six stylists, we have formed a team of professionals that have worked together, challenged each other and held each other accountable for being the best professionals we can be. We are committed to giving our guests the best experience with their hair care services. Our commitment to serving our guests extends into the community and beyond through our support of local charitable organizations, fundraisers and events.

Good Morning to all!
This is probably one of the hardest yet rewarding posts I have ever made and I hope to bring clarity and honor to an industry that I love…the beauty of a hair salon! I have been in the industry for 45+ years and I guess you could say that I have seen it all… things come and they go! Trends change, products change and now with social media, you are met with the demands of AI and pictures of hair styles that are sometimes created by humans, yet many are enhanced with a million different filters! And as a stylist, you wind up in the back room feeling the stress of “please God, help me thru this one!” Many are in the back room praying to a hair God that doesn’t even exist! Lol… with that being said, it’s in the back room that relationships within the salon become family. As stylists, we all become like a family. We all know that we are helping each other make the world a better, even more beautiful place by helping others feel beautiful. No pressure, right? To find a stylist that understands you and listens to you, sometimes takes a few chairs to find and that’s ok! I’ve always said that a client is only your client while they are sitting in your chair. It’s up to you to meet the needs of that client and if you can’t, they will find and keep looking for the place and person that can! I have had the honor and privilege of having both! Many have been client’s for 30 or more years… we’ve walked thru marriage, divorce, babies, hardships and even death with those that have sat in our chairs. It’s a true ministry! I’ve always said that if you want to be in ministry, become a hairdresser! You will reach the world of those that God gives you the honor to make beautiful! It’s not an easy job to have to please everyone and can I say, “it’s impossible!” Each day, we do our best and then there are days that we miss it! We are human… never can we be perfectionists even when we try! Having said all of this, “I love what I do!” One of God’s greatest gifts God has given me to do is my work! I am blessed!
In my career, I mentioned that I have seen all the changes thru the years and one of the most difficult ones for me have been when changes take place in the salon family. I’ve always been known as “Salon Mama” no matter where I worked. My biggest desire is to always see those that I work with become successful and grow in their career. When I love, I love Big! Many throughout the years have become like daughters. I genuinely care about those that I work with and have prayed daily for them all and their families. I’ve watched things change as stylists leave to go to find their tribe or new salon, somewhat like people looking for their individual stylists and the same way as clients, a stylist is only a stylist at your salon as long as they desire to work for you! We don’t own anyone, but in most cases, you hate to see them leave! As a family, We are there to be a blessing! No need for competition. My hats goes off to all of you salon owners out there! It’s not an easy job! The good, bad and ugly always seems to fall on you! You do your best with providing a place for others to thrive in. Helping them build their businesses, cleaning up the messes, and I’m sure the list goes on and on! Being a previous salon owner, I know how hard it is to please everyone and the burden that you feel to keep things going… the betrayal that you feel when you can’t and the burdens that weighs on you daily for your place of business. One day you can be on the mountaintop and then the suddenlys that happen, place you in the valley! Change! It’s the one thing that we can always count on… and it will never be in our timing! My husband always says, “Don’t focus on the pain of change, but the reward of change!” So I’m going to do just that…
The last 23 years, I have worked at A Janet Lynne Salon on Amelia Island and it has been one of the greatest joy’s in my career. Sadly through the winds of change, this salon will be closed effective Oct 1, 2024. If you own a small business, you realize that to have a business open for 23+ years is a legacy in itself in this day and time. In these 23 years, Janet has been an incredible person to work along side during the good, bad and ugly. We walked through Covid and so many changes thru the years and somehow thru it all, she was always striving to do her best for all, sometimes making hard decisions and facing her own personal mountains of challenge! I've had the honor of praying her through it all. She has facilitated the growth of many stylists and now salon owners in the area. I’d love to list all of your names of beautiful people that have once worked in her salon. You all know who you are and I’ll try to post pics of the journey thru the years. Let’s learn as a tribe of hair designers, to honor one another. “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” There is always a right and wrong way to make changes. Forgiveness and reconciliation is the most powerful gift we can extend to one another. I have salon daughters everywhere in this area and I love you all so very much! Nothing can change that… we can all be disappointed in life, but let us not burn our bridges! We all need each other! When we stop and realize that when we pray for change, we don’t know how and what that change will be, we only know that God will direct Our path… the path that He knows will be best for us during the season that we are in at that time! Ecclesiastes 3… “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens!” I know one thing, I am embracing this change… because my Father knows best! My new salon home will be “Salt & Light Hair Co.” located at 5472 1st Coast Hwy, Suite 5. You can contact me at 904-556-1809 for future appointments. Janet will also be there, no longer a salon owner but a dedicated hair designer, eager to bless her clients and rest from all the other responsibilities. She can be reached at 904-556-1687.
To all my fellow hair stylists/salon owner community out there, I love you all very much and I pray that you are walking the path that God has placed before you with purpose and gladness of heart! Lets be friends and remain being familyLet’s keep making our world, a more beautiful place!!! It’s a gift from God!

Good evening friends! Just an update…..
This is our last week of work at A Janet Lynne Salon. It is mostly bittersweet to watch as the equipment and furnishings are slowly being sold off.
However… I am feeling really liberated and free that I will not have the responsibility of salon ownership anymore.
We (Liz Scott Garza) love our clients and we look forward to continuing our relationship at our new salon. We are so very excited and blessed to come full circle and be with our friend Joni at her salon Salt + Light Hair Company
My legacy of 24 years will be just that, a legacy and I am thankful and blessed to all that have been through our doors beginning on 8th street and then to Sadler🥰
We will be joyous and remember the stylists that I have had in my salon as well, the investment that I made in their careers. It is my prayer that perhaps they have all moved forward with more knowledge and confidence to navigate their careers😊
Mostly I am thankful for my best friend in the whole wide world, my fellow hairdresser, my die hard by my side, my mentor and well, just a wonderful person…..Lizzie
I love you to pieces and I thank God that you were there to walk with me through this very emotional roller coaster.
Our new location is 5472 First Coast Highway
Suite #5
This is my future
You are SALT of the earth. We are here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of the earth.
And a LIGHT of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden🙌🙌
We are so thankful and blessed by Joni for allowing us to be part of her team💙🩷

Good day to our wonderful clients. I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I have made a decision to close my salon and become an independent contractor. I have prayed for years to have the freedom that comes with being independent. Most of you know that i have stepped into a role as caregiver for my mother and this will allow me more time to help her with her needs.
I will be working with my dear friend, Joni Durrance at her salon SALT+LIGHT Hair Company. And YES…….Liz Scott Garza will be with me through this transition.
It is located at 5472 First Coast Highway Suite #5. The phone number is 904-261-4500
It is in the same center as KP’s restaurant. It is a precious, cozy salon that I will know you will find relaxing and friendly. I will continue to use my Joico Professional line of color and the salon will have Kenra and Joico for all of your take home needs.
If you are currently scheduled then you are good to go!
Liz and I will not be starting at the new salon until October 2nd so if you have an appointment in September then you will come to the Sadler road location.
We will be cancelling the phone number to the salon as well. So we have new lines set up for you to call…..
If you need an appointment with Janet my new phone number is 904-556-1687.
Liz’s phone number is 904-556-1809
You can call or text to make your next appointment and please be respectful and call or text only during the workweek from 10-5. We will respond as soon as we can. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as this transition occurs🙏🏼
