Balayage I did a while ago that I never posted because it didn’t feel brunette enough to be a brunette and it didn’t feel blonde enough to be a blonde. It’s almost like we have a word for that now.

2026 is here! And here’s how it’s gonna go:

No Bleach Brunette - let’s talk about it!

Not everyone’s hair needs to be bleached to get the results you are looking for. No bleach colors can not lift as light as bleach can, and almost always tend to lift much warmer than bleach will, so they are best for people who want to stay on the deeper side of color, or who don’t mind seeing warmth. There are pros and cons to not using bleach!

Pros:
• color tends to fade less aggressively and more evenly
• less potential damage to the hair
• helps preserve the moisture content of your hair (big pro for the curly girlies!)

Cons:
• deeper colors and warmer colors than bleaching. If you can’t get light enough you don’t have a lot of wiggle room without bleach moving forward.
• potentially longer processing time/appointment time. I usually process no bleach highlights close to 55minutes depending on desired result.
• doesn’t work as well, if at all, through previously colored hair. Test strands can help decide if this is right for you!
