The Best Little Hair House

This is so true. As hairstylists we learn so much about our clients' lives and see them through so many phases we feel the relationship is more personal than stylist-customer. We often grieve the loss of a client when they leave and spend hours questioning what we may have done wrong. We get nervous about outside encounters with the lost client often wondering how awkward a casual meeting may be. Our hearts are wrapped up in everything we do and losses hurt deeply. We only want the best for every person who walks in the door and we also want that if they leave us. Our profession is born of compassion.

I think just as we get other clients from other people, some people just feel they want to change or need to change for some reason. I used to take it very personally, now I realize that most of them will either be back or if they are happier somewhere else. It is what it is.
