GREENSBORO, NC — I’M COMING — OCTOBER 17TH! 🎤✨

I’m honored to be speaking at THE WHOLE WOMAN — Where Money, Power, S*x & Purpose Meet.

And my assignment is clear:

We’re going to talk about WOMEN’S HEALTH. The things we know. The things nobody taught us. And the things we’ve been suffering through quietly for far too long.

Because…

“Knowledge is the first act of power. Understanding your body is how you take your health back.”

In just 15 minutes, I’m opening a conversation about Women’s Health Literacy Across Life Stages—from our reproductive years to motherhood, perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

We’re talking about:

✨ HORMONES — Estrogen. Progesterone. Testosterone. Cortisol. Thyroid. And what happens when your body starts telling you something has changed.

✨ THE CONDITIONS WE SOMETIMES NORMALIZE — Painful periods. Fibroids. PCOS. Endometriosis. Irregular cycles. Fatigue. Weight changes. Low libido. Mood changes.

✨ PERIMENOPAUSE & MENOPAUSE — Hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, sleep problems, anxiety, body changes—and why menopause should be viewed as a season of wisdom and power, not decline.

✨ PREGNANCY & MOTHERHOOD — The Black maternal mortality crisis, informed consent, postpartum mental health, advocacy and choosing motherhood on your own terms.

✨ BREAKING THE SILENCE — Because somewhere along the way, Black women learned that being “strong” meant enduring everything quietly.

It doesn’t.

As I’ll tell the women in Greensboro:

“We were taught to suffer quietly. But silence is not strength—it is a cage. This room is where we break out.”

And finally, we’re talking about ADVOCACY.

How do you talk to your provider?

What questions should you ask?

When should you seek a second opinion?

What does informed consent—and informed refusal—actually mean?

And how do you become an active participant in your healthcare instead of simply accepting, “Everything looks normal,” when you know you don’t feel like yourself?

📍 Greensboro, North Carolina
📅 October 17th
🎤 THE WHOLE WOMAN
Where Money, Power, S*x & Purpose Mee

I cannot wait to have this conversation.

And to the conference organizers, corporations, churches, women’s ministries, universities, retreats and organizations looking for speakers:

This is the work I want to bring into more rooms.

Real health education.
Real conversations.
Faith.
Science.
Advocacy.
Whole-person wellness.

Because when women understand their bodies, they can make better decisions about their health—and ultimately about how they live, love, lead and walk in purpose.

And I want to leave every woman with this:

“Your body is not a problem to be solved. It is a story being written. You get to hold the pen.”

Greensboro, I’ll see you October 17th. ❤️

🚨 LADIES… CAN WE TALK ABOUT HORMONES FOR A MINUTE?

I read the comments on my Homegirl's post and I understand all too well what the women are experiencing! Here are a few things that were mentioned....maybe you can relate to 1 or 5 of them:

🔥 “I sleep with the AC AND ceiling fan and still wake up sweating.”

🧠 “The brain fog is terrible.”

😩 “I’m irritated and easily agitated.”

🥵 “Night sweats!”

😢 “I stay in my feelings.”

😤 “All kinds of mood changes.”

👂 “My ears are ringing and buzzing.”

💪 “Frozen shoulder.”

🧊 “I suddenly started craving and eating ice.”

And one woman said something I hear often:

“I had a hysterectomy, but I’m still having symptoms.”

Ladies, hear me:

🗣 YOU DO NOT HAVE TO JUST SUFFER THROUGH THIS!

Perimenopause and menopause can affect far more than your menstrual cycle. Changes in estrogen and other hormones can contribute to:

• Hot flashes and night sweats
• Sleep disruption
• Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
• Irritability, anxiety and mood changes
• Vaginal dryness and changes in s*xual health
• Joint and musculoskeletal symptoms
• Changes in body composition and metabolism

And YES—you can still experience menopausal symptoms after a hysterectomy. Depending on whether your ovaries were removed or retained, your hormonal journey may look different.

But here's the part I really want women to understand:

EVERYTHING ISN'T “JUST HORMONES.”

For example, suddenly craving or chewing ice can be associated with **iron deficiency**, and ringing in the ears has several possible causes that deserve evaluation.

That's why I don't believe in simply saying:

"You're getting older."
"It's menopause."
"Just deal with it."

No.

I want to know what is happening in YOUR body! That's why a conversation is necessary!!!

As a Family Nurse Practitioner with specialized training in hormone health and wellness, I evaluate the whole picture—your symptoms, medical history, medications, lifestyle, appropriate labs, risks and goals—and then we discuss evidence-based options that may include lifestyle interventions, nonhormonal treatment and, when appropriate, menopausal hormone therapy.

💗 If you're somewhere between “Something is changing” and “WHOSE BODY IS THIS?!”—I want to help you understand what's happening.

Y'all asked, so I'm making room. 💗

I'm carving out some time this Sunday evening for a special SUNDAY WELLNESS: The Hormone Conversation. (I'll post the time and method once I figure it out🤷🏾‍♀️)

We're talking hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, mood changes, weight changes, sleep, libido, hysterectomy, labs, HRT, DUTCH testing—and most importantly, how to advocate for yourself when you know something in your body has changed.

You don't have to be my patient. You don't even have to live in Indiana.

Come learn. Bring your questions. Bring your labs. Bring your girlfriends.

Because sometimes the first step toward feeling better is finally understanding what your body has been trying to tell you.

Comment "THE WAY" if you are ready to heal!!!

🖤❤️💚 Happy Juneteenth from Premier Wellness 💚❤️🖤

Today, we pause to honor Juneteenth, the day that marks the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the United States on June 19, 1865—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth is more than a celebration of freedom. It is a reminder of the strength, resilience, faith, and perseverance that have carried generations through unimaginable challenges. It is a day to reflect on our history, celebrate our progress, and recommit ourselves to building healthier, stronger communities for future generations.

As a healthcare provider, I recognize that true freedom includes the freedom to:
✨ Access quality healthcare
✨ Prioritize mental wellness
✨ Break generational cycles of illness
✨ Live a life of purpose, vitality, and abundance
✨ Thrive—not just survive

At Premier Wellness, we believe that healing is an act of empowerment. Every healthy choice, every preventive screening, every step toward wellness is an investment in your legacy.

Today, as we celebrate freedom, let us also celebrate the opportunity to take ownership of our health and our future.

📢 Have you scheduled your annual wellness visit?
📢 Do you know your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol numbers?
📢 Are you taking care of your mental and emotional health?

Your health is part of your inheritance. Protect it.

Because freedom isn't just about where we've been—it's about having the health and strength to go where God is calling us next.

🖤❤️💚 Happy Juneteenth! 🖤❤️💚

💙 From Mental Health Awareness Month to Men's Health Awareness Month 💙

What an incredible time we had at the 21-Day Good News Challenge Kickoff Event!

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, let's remember that awareness is only the beginning. The real goal is action, healing, connection, and transformation.

Now, as we enter Men's Health Awareness Month, I want to challenge each of us to intentionally support the men in our lives.

The fathers.
The husbands.
The brothers.
The sons.
The uncles.
The friends.
The coworkers.

Too often, men are taught to be strong, but not always taught how to ask for help. They carry responsibilities, pressures, disappointments, and burdens that many never see.

This month, let's encourage the men we love to:

✅ Schedule their annual checkups
✅ Know their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar numbers
✅ Prioritize their mental health
✅ Get adequate sleep
✅ Move their bodies regularly
✅ Talk about what's weighing on them
✅ Build healthy relationships and accountability
✅ Remember that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness

A healthy community starts with healthy families, and healthy families need healthy men—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Thank you to everyone who attended the kickoff event and to the organizations and leaders who continue creating spaces where men can learn, grow, heal, and thrive.

Let's keep the momentum going.

Because the strongest men are not those who suffer in silence—they are the ones courageous enough to care for themselves so they can continue showing up for others.

Below is just a snippet of what you missed today. I hope you hear something that encourages you!!

Mental Health Awareness Month | My Testimony Begins!

For years, I carried a pain that words could barely describe.

I lost my father to murder.

The grief was overwhelming. The anger was real. And the journey toward healing required me to confront one of the hardest things I have ever done: choosing forgiveness.

Not because what happened was acceptable.
Not because the pain disappeared.
But because I refused to let bitterness have the final say.

This month, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m sharing my story in hopes that it helps someone else who is carrying silent grief, trauma, depression, or unanswered questions.

Healing is possible.
Forgiveness is possible.
Peace is possible.

If you are in a season where your heart feels heavy, I want you to know that your story is not over.

God can heal what feels impossible.

🌸 SPRING WELLNESS RESET: Is Your Body Struggling This Season? 🌸

Spring is beautiful… but for many, it brings:
🤧 Sneezing & congestion
👀 Itchy, watery eyes
🌿 Sinus pressure & inflammation

If this is you, your body isn’t “just reacting”… it’s communicating.

At Premier Wellness, we don’t just silence symptoms—we support the body at the root.

🌿 What’s Really Happening?

Seasonal allergies are often tied to:
• Immune system imbalance
• Histamine overload
• Gut health dysfunction
• Inflammation burden

Your body may be overwhelmed—not broken.

💊 Targeted Support (Biotics Research Recommendations)

Here are a few practitioner-grade options I often recommend:

✔️ Bio-Allay® – Supports healthy histamine response and seasonal allergy relief

✔️ HistoPlex® – Helps modulate immune response and reduce hypersensitivity

✔️ Bio-C Plus® - Natural antihistamine + immune support

✔️ Gastrozyme®– Because healing the gut = calming the immune system
