Consistency is KEY! oh my oh my… I do not advise going 4.5mths between waxes…

{nor do I advise cheating and shaving mid summer either}
This wax hurt, but in a good way. A hefty reminder to get back on a consistent schedule, 5-6wks ideally. I’m not bendy or brave enough to attempt my own. 😂🤣😂

I need to put my thoughts together for the end of surgery but in short- I love the enhanced radiance moisturizer!

Let’s talk skin… I hate mine. I’m semi sensitive, and adult acne is my nemesis. But part of my journey in esthetics is improving my own skin, learning to cope and deal with triggers better so that if I come across a client dealing with similar issues I can relate and relay what I’ve learned that could help them.

Now my acne isn’t as bad as it was when I was 16-19. Thankfully. And I have done some work to get it in-line. but hormones always throw it throw a loop. I’m a stress picker and when I do they get real red. Stress, depression and anxiety trigger me to pick. Honestly a lot of the time I’m not aware of how bad I’ve made a spot till I’m past the point. I’ve had cellulitis on my chin before and I’m always paranoid of it coming back so if I have a deep pimple my brain always jumps to catastrophizing that it’s already turning to cellulitis bc it’s painful so I *HAVE* to pop it and make sure all is out at whatever cost to prevent it.

So thanks to years of picking and of course chicken pox as a child my skin is textured, my pores are large.

In school we used the woods lamp a little but never got to see our own skin through that light. I had the pleasure of dropping in to V/O MedSpa-Carmel location’s grand opening just over a week ago. Their SkinsCeuticals rep has a skin-scope so you could see your skin with the woods lamp. I was excited but also thinking the worst. Happy to say it wasn’t as bad as I expected.

I also spoke with a few of their staff learning a little more about their services and inquiring a bit. The medical aesthetician was great, and listened to my concerns and understood that I don’t have a strong routine and am budget conscious about dropping $$$ on products that might not even work. I asked her to recommend a hero product to start with that would easily go into my current struggle of a routine.

*Retinol* She said she wouldn’t even recommend a facial right away and that to commit to using the retinol for 6wks then come in for a facial.

The one she recommended and that I purchased that day committing to 6wks of using every 3 nights before going in for a facial, is the Zo Skin Health wrinkle + texture repair.

did awesome installing my locs. New way for her, so we were finding our way through. So I can’t wait to see how much better and faster she is the next time when I need these redone. I haven’t been able to rock these for like a year and thankful my girl was able to do me up.

Long hair dreams fulfilled 💗 once again.

I’ve had this peel from The Ordinary for several months and finally used it today for the first time. Only left it on maybe 5 mins. We’ll see how I feel after a few more uses, but I was a little red after.

I’m fairly open about my struggles with mental health, and sometimes I don’t have enough spoons to do everything I need to. Today I was able to prioritize some self care.

Now if so could win the lottery to pay someone to deal with my curly hair everyday that would be great bc I still can’t find my niche with it…

Consistency with your skincare is so important. I can attest to the difference it can make.

Some things take time to work but some things can show nearly immediate results. High frequency being one that can show results nearly immediate with reduction in redness/inflammation of acne.

Days are ticking down!

It’s my last TUESDAY in school!

FRIDAY will be my last clock out. It will happen between 2:00p & 3:00p

Knocking out the last of my mark offs between now and Thursday and then also doing some self care to pamper myself before I finish.

My roots have gotten bad so a color refresh is on the books!

I am going to miss a lot of the girls I’ve been on this journey with. It’s so hard to believe I only have a few days left. I’ll be back to get some services from them before they all graduate in June.

The real count down is on!
I take my PSI (state board) tomorrow and then graduate next Friday. Gotta be super productive knocking out these last mark offs but I’ll get them done.
