Simple Science for Hair Color Nerds

A full lightening service can take time BUT it is so worth it!

Step 1. I was able to lighten our guests hair in a foil isolation technique (platinum card) using Redken Flash lift with 20vol. The most important thing is to wait until the hair in the foil has completely lifted before you go back and do the 1/4inch area on the scalp.
Step 2. I ‘pre-toned’ with Shades EQ Gloss equal parts 09P, 09V and Crystal clear with SEQ Processing solution. This evens out any remaining yellow tones before I go in with my fantasy pigments.
Step 3. Root shadow indigo, Violet and Blue placed in a zig-zag all around the head.
What I love is the unexpected pops of vibrant color when the hair moves around. Fun day!
