Many people ask me why I named my business The Fitz Esthetics. So here’s a little storytime…

The Fitzpatrick scale is a scale we use to chart skin tone and thus create appropriate treatment plans. Every skin tone can be found on this scale from the palest redheads to the deepest complexion.

Working in this field for almost 7 years countless people of color have sat on my treatment table. So many POC clients with skin stories that needed to be heard. So many that enthusiastically said when they saw a picture of me they thought maybe I could treat their skin. And while that always makes me feel good clients trust me. It also brought me a sense of sadness that some don’t feel taken care of by our industry.

So when I dreamt about what I wanted my business to be and the values I wanted it to hold, The Fitz just made sense. To create a space for those many clients who have echoed those sentiments to me. I wanted to create a space for myself. Because let’s be honest I don’t see a ton of curly haired, bi racial, plus size girlies as the standard in this industry. Truly just like the Fitzpatrick scale everyone has a place at The Fitz.
