Hi everyone! I thought it was time to properly introduce myself as the person behind Aketzali. 🤎

My name is Zoé (pronounced so-eh, like the Mexican rock band), and I was born and raised in LA.
I started Aketzali about six years ago, inspired by my grandfather, Margarito, and his knowledge of medicinal plants. In Michoacán, he was frequently sought out by people in his community for his knowledge of healing. His relationship with plants and traditional medicine inspired me to think about how we care for and heal our largest organ—our skin.

Over the last couple of years, it became harder for me to give my business the attention I wanted to. After some big career changes, I’m finally in a place where I can pour more love, time, and energy back into Aketzali.

I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who has supported me throughout the years. There were definitely times when I thought about giving up, but hearing from you about how much my products have helped your skin kept me going. 🖤
Since I’m usually just posting products, I thought I’d share a few things about the person behind them:

• I used to be an elementary school teacher at a bilingual school, where I taught in both our Spanish and Navajo programs.
• I’m married to an extremely sweet and artistically talented man, Samuel R Bockelman 
• I’m now a full-time permanent makeup artist Zoé | Permanent Makeup | Tooth Gems | Flagstaff, AZ
• I love to read
• I love doing beadwork
• And I freaking LOVE clowns. 🤡 Yes, creepy, I know.

These are MY lips done by 2 years ago, and this is why I decided to train with her…the results were INSANE. 🤯 She gave my lips the symmetry I was looking for. Now that I know her techniques, I am looking forward to working on lips. 💋

This weekend I took my skills to another level with . She did my lip blush 2 years ago, and I loved it so much that I decided I wanted to train with her. Not only did I train for lip blush, but also learn more about ombré brows with her. These are some brows I assisted with in my training. 😍 I am so excited to do more! The things I learned from her made me feel 100 times more confident and comfortable. Love you Mylynda!

However, the All Natural Moisturizer does just fine if it melts. If it melts during transit, just let it sit until it hardens. In the event that it has completely melted and it is in liquid form (which I highly doubt it will ever happen), just give it a nice little stir before you let it sit. 😄 Yup! That simple.
