Salon Chair of Hope

Dear Friends, I feel like I owe an explanation of why we have not been online... I'm sorry to say that because of back rent owed on the Salon, the doors were locked on us just before Christmas. Robert and I were devastated, along with our Cancer Clients. There was no warning by our Landlord at all, and he sold in Auction ALL of Roberts tools, furniture, wigs, makeup etc.
We are in the process of losing our home now. We keep telling each other to have Faith the way all our Cancer clients do. So I just want to say Thank you for teaching Robert and I Bravery, perseverance, and most of all HOPE. We love you all, and are trying to find a way to become a non-profit salon. This way we would be eligible for grants and such. But first things first, so this might take awhile.

Residents of Arizona have a new ally in their fight against cancer. We at Salon Chair of Hope, located at 1515 North Main Street in Flagstaff, have made it our mission to assist cancer patients with adapting to the challenges that accompany radiation and chemo treatments. We help clients to retain a healthy appearance by shaving their heads, teaching them how to create head wraps, apply makeup, and style their wigs—all at no cost to them. In an effort to offset operational costs, we offer standard services to all regular clients and the profits go directly into providing these invaluable services to cancer patients. We offer haircuts, color services, styling, and facial waxing for women, as well as haircuts and a shave with optional “old fashioned” hot towel services for men. Through our philanthropic business philosophy, clients can leave not only looking their best, but also with their heads held high knowing that their support has provided a cancer patient the full benefit of feeling healthier from this vital community program. We estimate that if each resident of Flagstaff came to the salon only one time, it would allow every cancer patient in the community to have their service needs met free of charge. We are not asking clients to change their stylists, rather we are asking them to help us make a tangible difference in the lives of those battling cancer. Cancer patients are our neighbors, family members, and friends and they deserve to know that we as a community will support them one hundred percent throughout their ongoing battle with this detrimental illness.
