Chip Sealing will be taking place on the following streets on the following dates:

Wednesday, September 2nd:
- 4th Avenue from 9th Street to 11th Street
- 11th Street from 3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue
- 15th Street from 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue

Thursday, September 3rd:
- 3rd Avenue from 12th Street to 17th Street
- 16th Street from 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue

No parking will be permitted on these streets from 7:00 AM-7:00 PM or until work is complete. Violators may be towed at the owners expense. A call will be going out to affected residents this evening. Streets will also be posted.

This project is being completed as part of the Borough’s ongoing effort to protect and extend the life of roads recently resurfaced. By completing crack sealing followed by chip sealing, we can address minor pavement deterioration early, help prevent water intrusion, and preserve these streets before they require more expensive resurfacing or reconstruction.

📋 COMMUNITY SURVEY: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Ford City and Manorville are participating in Pennsylvania’s Community Planning Technical Assistance Program. This program is helping both communities complete the preliminary work needed to potentially develop a joint comprehensive plan and consider updated zoning regulations.

A comprehensive plan is essentially a long-range roadmap for the community. It helps guide future decisions involving housing, economic development, infrastructure, public safety, transportation, recreation, community character, and the overall use of land. This survey is an important first step in that process.

Before any goals or recommendations are developed, we need to understand what the people who live, work, own property, or operate businesses in our communities actually want. The survey asks about the issues facing Ford City, the services and improvements you believe should be prioritized, how you would like the community to look in the future, and who should be responsible for addressing identified needs.

No zoning decisions have been made, and this survey is not proposing any specific ordinance or project. We are gathering information so that future planning is based on broad community input, not simply the opinions of elected officials or a small group of participants.

Responses will be kept confidential and combined into a community-wide summary. Individual responses and identifying information will not be publicly shared.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by September 3rd. Every response helps us better understand our community’s needs and priorities.

Take the survey here:
https://forms.cloud.microsoft/g/Jp7a1ZnitG

If you would prefer to complete a paper survey, please visit the Ford City Borough office.

The future of our community should be shaped by the people who call it home. Please participate and help us plan thoughtfully for the years ahead!

“You’re so busy.”
“It’s hard to get an appointment with you.”
“I have to book weeks in advance.”

YES. 🤍 And I’m incredibly grateful.

Because I LOVE what I do. I’m blessed to have loyal clients, a busy barbershop, a booked chair, and the opportunity to teach the next generation of barbers.

But let me be clear — none of this was handed to me. I worked for it. I earned it.

When I first started cutting hair in this area, I remember spending HOURS cleaning, waiting and hoping someone would walk through the door. I’d stand outside in my smock next to a little “BARBER SERVICES — WALK-INS WELCOME” sign, praying someone would see it and stop.

And eventually… they did.

It didn’t happen overnight.
It wasn’t given to me.

I handed out business cards like candy. I told anyone who would listen that I was a barber. I showed up. I worked. I learned. I kept going.

And today, I get to look around and see a busy shop that I built. A shop where I can serve my community, grow as a barber, and teach future barbers to chase their own dreams.

As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, there were plenty of reasons people could have told me I wouldn’t make it.

But I did. And I’m just getting started.

So if you’re in the beginning stages of building something of your own and it feels slow or impossible…

KEEP GOING.

The empty days, the rejection, the long hours, the self-doubt — it’s all part of the story.

The work is worth it.
The struggle is worth it.
You just have to want it badly enough to keep showing up.

Winning Best of the Best means so much because I wasn't built on popularity— I was built on trust, hard work, and the quality of every haircut. 🙏💇‍♂️

As the only woman in my barber class and someone who wasn't from this area, I was told opening a barbershop here wouldn't succeed.

This community proved those doubts wrong. 🤍✨️

Thank you for believing in my craft, supporting my dream, and allowing me to serve this incredible town. Every client who sits in my chair and every person who walks through our doors has helped make this possible. 🥹💈

This recognition belongs to all of us—and we're just getting started. Thank you for helping prove that skill, dedication, and passion always speak louder than doubt.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are incredibly honored to announce that Ford City Barbershop has been voted Bronze Winner for Best Hair Salon/Barbershop in the Leader Times Best of the Best Awards! 🥉✂️

To every client who trusts us, voted for us, supports our small business, and believe in our dream— THANK YOU. 🙏
This recognition belongs to all of you just as much as it belongs to us.

When we opened our doors, our goal was simple: preserve the tradition of barbering, provide exceptional service, educate the next generation of barbers, and make a positive impact in our hometown. To see that mission recognized means the world. 🥰💈

Congratulations to all of this year's winners and nominees! We are proud to be part of such an amazing community. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦🤍

Here's to continuing to grow, learn, and serve Armstrong County with the same passion every single day. ✨️👍

✨ Meet Casey – Owner & Manager of Ford City Barbershop 💈🪽

If you've visited Ford City Barbershop, chances are you've met Casey! 🤍
As the owner and manager, she's passionate about preserving the tradition of barbering while helping shape its future through education, mentorship, and exceptional service. 🤗💈

For Casey, owning a small business is about so much more than cutting hair. 💇‍♂️🪒
It's about investing in the community she calls home, creating opportunities for the next generation of barbers, and providing a welcoming space where every client feels comfortable, respected, and cared for. 🏡✂️🙏

While business ownership certainly comes with its challenges, she wouldn't trade it for anything. Being able to wake up each day doing what she loves and serving the people of her community makes it all worthwhile. 🫶👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

When she's not at the shop, you'll likely find her tending to her plants (she definitely has a green thumb!), spending time with her family and pets, or caring for her family's farm. 🪴🐾🚜

Behind the chair, Casey is known for delivering a premium grooming experience with attention to detail and genuine care. Her favorite service is the Pamper Package, giving clients the chance to relax while enjoying the full barbershop experience. 💆‍♂️✨️

Whether you're looking for a fresh fade, a relaxing grooming experience, or a barber who truly loves what she does, Casey is here to help. 👍

Come see why so many clients trust Ford City Barbershop for their grooming needs.

E-bikes may look like regular bicycles, but many can travel fast enough to cause serious injuries, especially when a child does not have the judgment, balance, or road awareness to handle that speed. Letting kids ride powerful e-bikes around traffic, through neighborhoods, or without helmets and supervision can put them, pedestrians, and drivers at risk. Parents should not treat an e-bike like an ordinary toy. Before allowing a child to ride one, they should consider the bike’s speed, the child’s age and maturity, local rules, and whether they have proper safety gear and training
