10 years as a facialist. Here’s what I actually learned. 🤍

Results don’t come from the treatment room. They come from what you do the other 29 days.

SPF, every day. Consistency at home. Sleep, stress, food. And stop chasing lines — even tone and healthy texture are what make skin look alive.

Your skin is made up of three main layers, each with a different job. The outermost layer, called the epidermis, acts as the body’s protective barrier. It keeps harmful bacteria, viruses, and chemicals out while helping prevent water from escaping. This layer is constantly replacing itself as old skin cells are shed and new ones are produced.

Beneath the epidermis is the dermis, a thicker layer that gives the skin its strength and flexibility. It contains collagen and elastin fibers, along with blood vessels, nerves, sweat glands, oil glands, and hair follicles. The dermis allows you to feel touch, pressure, pain, and temperature while helping regulate body temperature through blood flow and sweating.

The deepest layer is the hypodermis, also called the subcutaneous tissue. It is made mostly of fat and connective tissue that cushions the body, stores energy, and provides insulation to help maintain body temperature. Together, these three layers protect your organs, regulate your temperature, support sensation, and create the body’s largest organ.

Your skincare routine shouldn’t stop at your jawline.

The neck and chest have thinner skin, less collagen, and often show signs of aging before the face. Treat them with the same intention you give the rest of your skin.

Healthy skin isn’t about looking younger—it’s about supporting skin that stays strong, resilient, and healthy for years to come.

Regeneration • Longevity • Skin Health

Looking your age was never the problem.
The conversation around aging has always focused on appearance.

We’re interested in something deeper.

Skin health. Longevity. Regeneration.

Because when your skin is healthy, confidence follows.

“You don’t look your age.”

Most people mean it as a compliment.

But have you ever stopped to ask why?

Why do we assume looking your age is a bad thing?

At some point, we were taught that youth is the standard and aging is the exception. That wrinkles should be erased. That time should be hidden.

We disagree.

Aging is not a flaw.
It’s evidence of a life lived.

The goal isn’t to look younger than your age.

The goal is to feel healthy, vibrant, confident, and at home in your skin at every age.

At The Skin Lounge, we don’t chase youth.

We support skin health, longevity, and regeneration through every season of life.

Because aging isn’t the problem.

How we think about aging might be.

What are your thoughts on the phrase:
“You don’t look your age”?
