Booking Updates and New Hours for 2025
As we approach the end of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to share some personal updates and important news about my availability.
Some of you may know, life has taken a shift for me. With that I am excited to announce that I’m opening up my books for 2025.
But first, I want to prioritize YOU... my loyal clients... because your continued trust and support mean the world to me.

Latest & Greatest on Re Opening for KRISTIN WATTS AT CHROMA HAIR LAB.
I've missed you all so much! These are unusual times, to say the least, and the rule book is literally being written moment to moment.
Franke and I want to make sure that we can provide the safest environment for all our guests, and in doing so we will have to make changes.
Please know we did not come to our decisions lightly. We painstakingly analyzed every option to be confident in our conclusions & to be honest we are totally drained!
I say that only to ask for grace from all of you. We need a moment to switch gears and actualize how this is going to look going forward. I trust you all know our hearts deeply & therefor trust we would ONLY make decisions that are best for ALL of us.
The process will be quite a bit different than before, however our commitment to the heart of Chroma Hair Lab (YOU), will never change.
NEW REQUIREMENTS

-Franke & I will not be working at the same time due to the size of our space. This limits our hours spent in the salon but creates a safer space for you.
-We are unable to maintain social distancing if both stylists are working- This means I will be working Monday(10-6) Tuesday(10-6) Friday(10-3) Saturday(10-3). Please note, extra time will be needed to perform cleaning protocols, which means less appointments will be available each day.
-Only bring yourself to your appointment - Children may still receive services as long as they can properly wear a mask & be comfortable with you staying in the car for the duration of their appt. Unfortunately, no ride along guests will be allowed in the salon.
-We can no longer provide communal refreshments to our guests.
-I will be wearing a mask at all times and I need you to as well. If you are receiving a service that does not require us to wash your hair, please come in with SAME DAY CLEAN HAIR as we need to minimize the number of washes. Any service that requires a shampoo, please know that there is a good chance your mask will get wet/stained or discolored. Masks must be worn at all times & are not allowed to be changed out during your appointment. We will have masks at the salon to wear, but they will be cloth masks that will be laundered after each use until we can acquire disposables. If you are uncomfortable wearing a cloth mask that others have worn, please bring your own or we cannot provide your service.
-We MUST check your temperature and perform a short health questionnaire before we can perform your service. We will also be undergoing the same temperature check and questionnaire each day as well. We will have hand sanitizer for you immediately upon entering as well as a temp check & questionnaire recommended by the State. Please click the link below to save the Questionnaire, make sure you can answer NO to all questions 24 hours prior to your appointment. These protocols help keep us all safe and ensure Franke & I are complying with case tracking requirements.

-Styling services will be limited. We have received mixed guidelines on the safe use of hair dryers and the virus in a small space like ours. Sanitizing hot tools, brushes, and blow dryers is logistically complex given the nature of the tools as well as how often they are used. For now, I will be doing a limited blow dry /style with easily disinfected tools, until recommendations change. Thankfully summer is here & we will have ALL the supplies you need protected in our closed cabinet, waiting to go home with you!
Please wait in your car when you arrive for your appointment.- When you arrive please wait in your car until I come out to get you. You will see me wildly waving at the open door for you with hand sanitizer.
Pricing & Paying for your appointment- Please know this is an individual choice & we are all doing what we believe is best for our clientele. There have been many questions raised about how the added restrictions combined with 50% reduction in clientele will impact pricing. Personally for me, I am choosing not to raise my prices and instead I am asking for additional understanding while I navigate performing services professionally and still giving you the salon experience you deserve. I am not requiring any deposit fees for appointments. As far as payment goes, If checks are available to you, please use that as your form of payment. I will have a disinfected pen available for each client if you are unsure of your total before hand. Wearing gloves & online depositing through my bank is substantially less expensive than the fees for going with a "touch-less check out" for all clients. If you need to use a card for payment, please let me know before your appointment so I can walk you through the proper steps as we cannot accept card payment in the salon. Cash will not be accepted for any payment.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR BOOKED APPOINTMENTS AND SCHEDULING
1) If you are currently booked with an appointment, I will be sending a reminder today to verify. If you need it changed, please let me know ASAP so I can reschedule you quickly.
2) If you do not currently have an appointment in the books, I have set my online booking settings to make sure the appointment is approved by me before you are officially on the books. You are welcome to attempt to schedule an appointment online. Please know that I am trying to accommodate everyone in the order that they were originally scheduled so the time you request may have to change.
3) Booked appointments will receive a confirmation 24hrs prior, Please click on the verification as a CONFIRMATION that you are free of all symptoms & will be showing up to your appointment the following day. No confirmation will result in me having to reschedule your appointment.
4) Opening day & all appointments are subject to change. Of course we are hoping this is the last update but we have no idea of knowing. You will be notified immediately if that does occur.

Hello everyone! Kristin and Franke miss you terribly.
Here at Chroma, we are working on a game plan to keep everyone safe, clients and stylists alike. If we have reached out to you to reschedule, please know that we may reach out once more to accommodate new work schedules that can better adhere to social distancing measures.
We realize that the governor has given the “go ahead” for salons to reopen on the 27th, however the Department of Regulatory Agencies still has our professional licenses suspended until May. We are waiting to hear more about new rules and regulations before we officially open our doors to the public to ensure that we are doing the best for both you and for ourselves.

Accepting this new reality has been difficult for me, hence the lack of reaching out to clients until now. I strongly believed that if I followed regulations to close down, within a week or two we would be back on track.
Never could I have for-seen the magnitude of this loss, not only my personal loss but the loss of my entire industry as we know it. I know I am not alone in this & many industries are in the exact same place.
Frances Kurucz Hlavacek Franke & I at Chroma Hair Lab CHROMA are both sole proprietor business owners. What that means is we are both the employer & employee of our own business. This restricts us from access to support such as unemployment/ FMLA/sick leave etc. For the last 17 years that has not become an issue because self-care & personal connection are vital in our society, so my career was always relevant. If anything, I thought it would have been my brain injuries that took me out of the workforce!
It is truly surreal to not know when I will be able to return to my career & to what capacity it will be around. For now though I am choosing to believe that very soon I will be behind the chair loving you, beautifying you & smiling with you that we all made it through!
On Monday March 23rd I will be sending out an email to all clients that have appts scheduled to reschedule tentatively in May. After that I will be sure to update EVERYONE with information I receive about re-opening. Thank you especially during this time for supporting me and loving me always!
