18 years in my studio today! This feels like/is a hefty, surreal milestone. Sweet fact: Inja was my first client here, leading hundreds of my other clients to follow. Happy 17th Anniversary to The Eighth Day studio!!! This stunning bouquet was waiting for me recently, gifted by the owners of this beloved historic building. I think it’s crucial to name it when we’ve been blessed so I thank Judy and Forrest Boggs for their unwavering care and support, my incredible sons — Zach and Justin, my solid friends, all of my awesome clients and anyone who ever graced my chair. I was compelled to create something special and authentic so I sensed this was my professional home the moment I stepped into my suite. Thank you for making it a genuine reality. 💝✨

A really wonderful anniversary passed recently - the Eighth Day studio’s 16th year in this location! We did this together even while the past few years have changed us all in ways we could not have imagined. Some things remain the same. I am grateful for every single person who’s ever sat in my chair: past, present … and future. I will always show up consistently with everything I have, learn, grow and do my very best. I celebrate you and what we share. Thank you for your trust and truth. 🥂

Local friends, I am offering my studio loveseat for free. It’s been a great piece of washable faux leather furniture for almost 16 years in my studio. There are a few tiny rips mainly on the left side and is currently sporting a sexy duct tape patch. If you or anyone you know could use it and help me keep it out of the landfill, it’s yours. I’ll even throw in the roll of duct tape. DM me if interested. *I won’t be posting on the marketplace.

A cherished client just asked me if we’d hit our 20th anniversary, which immediately made my eyes tear up. He’s correct! Its been a while since I’ve said it here but I am filled with gratitude every day for what we have built together on trust and consistency. I also want to extend a special thank you to him and my other long term clients, the root and flowers of my livelihood. Hot take, literally: Please turn the temperature dial on your heat styling tools down and use a thermal protectant if you heat style regularly. My gorgeous client got a new curling iron and used it without realizing how hot it was set. 410°! (Honestly, that’s not a safe temperature, period.) I never exceed 360° in the studio, even for own own coarse, thick hair. Her fine hair was simply burned off. We got her back to stunning for the right reasons and an important lesson was shared. Stay cool, friends! 😎
