I've added a sustainable White Sage ceremonial spray to my shop today. For a few years I've only carried Sedona Piñon and Palo Santo from a managed farm in Ecuador. The popularity of White Sage has grown exponentially over recent years. This plant is native to a very small area of Southern California through northern Baja and grows in a very limited environment. With California’s extended draught, wildfires, and intense pressure on wild stands from excessive and incorrect harvesting practices, commercialization of this plant ally in this way is not sustainable. Much like Osha root, which Taos Herbs recently stopped wildcrafting because of dwindling populations in the area, California White Sage will inevitably also be drastically reduced. The local Native people have expressed concern for the future of this sacred plant. For these reasons I have chosen not to sell wild-harvested White Sage products. Instead, I use a high quality, organic, cultivated White Sage and essential oil that is distilled on a family farm in California. See the link in my profile.

I've been blending and creating with tree resins and the house smells amazing! Piñon and Ponderosa Pine resins from the high desert of New Mexico. The life blood of the trees, so grounding and full of life force. Piñon is light and sweet and the Ponderosa is spicy and smells like cinnamon. Something new and luscious will go into the shop when I finish in a few weeks. 🌵🌲🌵
