This is what I purchased last night at Bath and Body Works. Pretty huh ? Well there is nothing French OR lavender about it. The label says there are essential oils in there. Where ? On the bottom label it says...MADE WITH ESSENTIAL OILS. Then below that is says...high concentrations of rich fragrance oils.
Below that ...Our patented soy wax blend is formulated to provide the best fragrance experience.
Followed by...100% crafted with you in mind.
Take a look at the bottom label yourself.
$ 24.50 I'll take a dozen. NOT !

French Lavender scented candle. Is what it's not.
Candle buyers are constantly fooled into thinking they are buying essential oil candles made with soy wax.
Maybe Bath and Body Works puts in 1 % lavender essential oil just to be able to say "Made with essential oils " But the rest is ALL scent oils.
Soy wax :blend" Another term that should raise suspicion.
Soy wax and what ? Describe what the blend refers too.
I did ask the manager about the word blend. She started e mailing corporate. Nothing. Then she got on the phone.
Seems everybody that could answer her questions had gone home. But she did give me a phone number to call myself. So I took my candle home with my phone number to call sometime Monday - Friday 9 - 5.

I have to say it drives me CRAZY that these stores do their best to fool and mislead the consumer because of their clever wording.

So last night I took a trip to the Galleria Mall. I went into 2 stores that sold candles. I talked to the sales people and a manager. I had questions about essential oils, soy wax, things of that nature. Stand by for some head scratching details and pictures. During this visit to the mall, no sales associates were injured while trying to answer my questions.

Candle making is on semi pause this week as I do the morning drive radio program on 101,5 Lite FM Miami.

Heading to Seven Oaks Lavender Farm in Virginia Thursday 28th for the 2 day Festival next weekend. Demonstrating candle making and playing lite refreshing music for the thousands of festival goers. Then to Deep Creek Lavender farm in Maryland July 2nd and 3rd. Love my summer road trips !
