Designing Your Self

Life rushes by us with relentless speed! After decades of teaching Harmony & Designing YourSelf to thousands in person, I had decided a few years ago that it was time for a change. Since then, I've had the opportunity to travel the world and see the harmony present in people, nature, and art in 90 countries. (It helps that our family has an expedition company, so I was still working leading trips and taking care of our clients!) Yet the longing to return to my Mission of Harmony kept tugging at my heart. Now, with a renewed desire and inspiration - I am opening my arms and heart to once again teach Living Harmony.

I have a friend who tries to see every sunset… whether it is likely to be special or not! I’ve learned to do this myself and am often surprised at how wonderful it is to take that moment to look at the sky... and often see harmony. When we remember to see the harmony all around us, allows us to reinvigorate our appreciation for our world -- and reminds us of our own Harmony Pattern. This sunset is extraordinary, yet even when you see even a simple example of natural beauty - embrace it! Live Your Harmony!

Sometimes not "trying" and just "being" is the best approach to feeling happy, centered and present. Here out on the sea, I was not trying to look good -- simply enjoying and being myself -- wet hair and all!

The essence of Designing Your Self is the find -- and enhance the Harmony in you. So, why am I showing you flowers? It's because, we can remember that just as all flowers are beautiful -- all people are beautiful. We just don't always remember that! And, flowers don't need to choose clothing to be in harmony - it is natural. We are conscious and have the opportunity to see and express our natural harmony! All my life, people have easily opened up to me. They often share their big secrets without me even asking! My theory is that because my superpower is that I see the best in people and they sense it and feel safe.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of having many thousands of conversations 2-3 hours each with my clients. During these “deep dives” as clients share their dreams, goals, hopes and fears, I’ve realized two things. First, how unique we are as individuals. Second, how very much alike we are as human beings.

I've observed how we share a deep common desire for more appreciation. It may come up as a mild complaint as in “My boss doesn’t appreciate me, my husband/wife doesn’t appreciate me, my kid doesn’t appreciate me…”

After listening, I often ask, “What would you LIKE him or her to appreciate you more for?” Often this takes them aback — and they might say, “Well, I don’t know…lots of things!” (It would help a lot if they knew, but it's usually a vague feeling.)
