Hi and welcome to Sundara Holistic Wellness!

My name is Joey. I am the owner of Sundara Holistic Wellness. I am a Florida and Ohio Licensed Esthetician and Licensed Massage Therapist. I am also a member of Associated Skin Care Professionals and Associated Body & Massage Professionals.

I became interested in skin care at the age of 8 as I began developing skin problems and became self-conscious of it. I started my own skin care regimen with just plain bar soap and water. As I became a teenager, soap and water wasn't enough. At 17 my mom introduced me to Mary Kay and got me on a skincare regimen and I became skincare consultant for several years. There wasn't internet back then but Seventeen and other magazines were a big help. I studied on learning how to DIY homemade facials. In my 20s, I discovered Aloe Vera...a truly healing plant in my book! In my late 20’s, a new chapter in my life began...

In 2008, as a single mom of 3 wonderful children, I decided to study holistic esthetics with an ayurvedic approach at Casal Aveda Institute in Ohio. In 2012, I went back to study massage therapy at Ohio College of Massotherapy in Akron, Ohio. Currently I am pursuing my post graduate studies at Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale and studying Chinese Medicine. I will be a 2015 graduate as Acupuncturist Physician.

In 2019, I visited Florida again and then something came over me…It felt like home. In 2020, I decided to move to Fort Lauderdale. It was a really tough journey in the first few years, but I persevered. Over time, I fine-tuned my vision, got more training and education and started to focus on what kind of practitioner I really wanted to be. I have lost a lot and gained even more, but I really value those lessons. I now know without a shadow of a doubt that I am an entrepreneur at heart and I would not want it any other way! Having owned several successful spas’ in the past, that is where my happiness is.

On March 1st, 2024 I am happy and excited to announce that I am opening up a holistic wellness Spa Center in Fort Lauderdale, “Sundara Holistic Wellness”. My current offerings will be Deep Tissue Massage, Relaxation Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Holistic Facials, and Holistic Body Scrubs. Sundara Holistic Wellness is inspired by my passion for health and wellness.

My business has evolved over the years, but my philosophy has remained the same, a “Holistic approach with clinical results”. I have both holistic and clinical training and apply it uniquely within my practice. Everything I do is highly customized and I am 100% committed to helping my clients achieve their wellness goals. To say I am passionate about health and wellness is an understatement. I really try to educate the importance of a healthy lifestyle to all my clients.

I’m grateful for what I do and I love what I do through my work. There’s a beautiful arch of positive healing energy that is exchanged between the recipient and myself. I am privileged for the most gratifying experience and elevation as a human being and each time I am honored to hold space for healing, nurturing, and mending.
