I took this new client a tad more copper AND added extensions for length and fullness, and the second that golden hour hit… the whole transformation came to life. 😍

Healthy extensions start with what you do at home ✨

My top 3 tips for keeping your extensions AND your natural hair healthy:

1. Brush them regularly, but always support the weft with your hand while brushing to avoid unnecessary pulling and tension on your natural hair.
2. Use the right products, especially heat protection. Your extensions don’t receive the natural oils from your scalp like your own hair does, so protecting and hydrating them is SO important.
3. Stay on schedule with your move-ups! Waiting too long between appointments can cause extra tension, tangling and unnecessary stress on your scalp and natural hair.

Extensions should enhance your hair, not compromise the health of it. ✨

A good install is important, but how you care for your extensions between appointments matters just as much.

I started buying extensions for myself when I was 15 because I just wanted to have more hair. I remember how different I felt when I put them in and how much more confident I felt with my hair.

Now, 17 years later, I get to give that feeling to other women. 🥹

I think that’s a huge part of why I love doing extensions so much. I still remember exactly how I felt the first time I had the hair I had always wanted.

For me, extensions have never just been about adding more hair. It’s about how you feel when you look in the mirror.

One of my favorite things about my job is knowing when not to recommend extensions.

She had been an extension client for a few years with me but after talking through her goals, I encouraged her to take them out and embrace her natural hair. And let me tell you… this bob was meant for her.

It fits her personality, brings out her features, and she wears it with so much confidence. Sometimes the biggest transformation isn’t adding more hair, it’s finding the haircut that makes you feel the most like yourself.

Since 7th grade, I’ve known I wanted to do hair. I loved coloring my grandma’s hair, trimming my friends’ hair, ordering extensions from eBay and Sally Beauty, color matching them, and blending them until they looked seamless. Even back then, I knew this industry was where I belonged.

As my career grew, I realized I had another calling. I wasn’t just meant to transform women through their hair, I was meant to build a salon and pour into other stylists.

Owning a salon isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes patience, resilience, and a whole lot of heart. But watching a stylist have that “aha” moment, seeing their confidence grow, celebrating when their books fill up, and watching them achieve goals they once thought were out of reach, that’s the part that fuels my fire.

I still love “doing” hair, but helping other stylists become the best version of themselves has become one of my greatest passions. And I truly believe that’s what I was meant to do. When you find your purpose, the hard days become worth it.
