🌺🤙🏽🌈🥳 Welp it’s my Birthday 🎂✨
I made it to 52.

And honestly… wow is all I can say.

Year 51 taught me more than some whole decades. It taught me that life can change in a minute. Since December I’ve received diagnoses that shifted how I see everything. And just this past Tuesday, I woke up blind in one eye… only for a minute, but still terrifying.

That was the moment I realized something real:

The Erika at 20, 30, and 40 was one version of me…
but 50+ Erika is a whole new woman living in a body that’s talking back now 😅

And my body basically said:
“I’m still carrying you… but in this era, I need more of you. More rest. More peace. More care.”

So at 52, I’m choosing to be:
💛 the freest
😄 the happiest
🌊 the most carefree and chill version of myself

Because I plan on this body lasting me another 45 years, and we’re going to do it in peace, not stress.

This year I will:
✈️ Travel to Fiji and French Polynesia with Brian
👩‍👧‍👦 Love harder on my children and grandchildren
📸 Create memories that outlive me
🌺 Laugh louder and notice the beauty in everything

And most of all…
I’m letting God be God and staying an available vessel, so He can keep using me all over this world.

So thank you to everyone who sent birthday love, prayers, and messages. I feel it all and I’m grateful for every single one of you.

🌺🫶🏼😌 Happy Monday Beautiful Folks!! This morning Brian found a new park for us to do our walks.. It was so beautiful and we could see our Highrise where we live from the park!!! And check out those steps.. Those are the steps the divers and surfers use. Beautiful indeed and relaxing!! Plus we got our steps in !🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽🌺🌺🤙🏽🤙🏽🌈🌈

✨ Gratitude Overflowing ✨

Yesterday my heart was so full. We welcomed the New Year surrounded by family right by a beautiful lagoon 🌊💙

Some of us were snorkeling 🤿, some swimming 🏊🏽‍♀️, some sitting on the grass soaking in the view 🌿, while others bonded over building sandcastles 🏰. It was one of those moments that gently reminds you what truly matters.

We’re not meant to do life alone. Connection, laughter, presence that’s medicine for the soul. Watching the pure joy on my grandson Lucas’ face as he played in the sand and lagoon. I loved watching Aella navigating the new Salty Waters .. watching her decide if she likes it or not. It filled my heart in a way words canbarely explain 🥹✨

Always carve out time for meaningful connections. It’s not just good for the heart it’s powerful for your mental health too.

🌺🤙🏽Happy Aloha Friday !✨🌺 Y’all… I was just talking to Brian about how society is set up.
And whew… let me tell you… it’s wild when you really think about it.

We were raised to believe:
👉🏽 Get a “good paying job”
👉🏽 Stick with it no matter how miserable you are
👉🏽 Work until you retire
👉🏽 Don’t complain, just survive

But in actuality?
If you want a career… make sure it’s something you LIKE.
Something that feeds you mentally, spiritually, emotionally and financially.

Because too many of us are:
💼 Working jobs we hate
💸 In debt from college
📚 Not even using the degree we paid thousands for
😩 Stressed out
😤 Undervalued
😞 Waking up unhappy every day

And for what?
A paycheck that barely covers the cost of living?
An employer who doesn’t appreciate your humanity?
A title that doesn’t even bring you joy?

No.
Let’s break that cycle. 🔥

I want to encourage somebody today:

✨ Pick a career that makes you BOTH happy and money.
✨ College is NOT the answer for everyone and that’s okay.
✨ Some people have gifts and talents that can fund their whole lifestyle.
✨ Some people are meant for trades, for creative work, for entrepreneurship.
✨ Some people want careers that fit their soul, not just their bank account.

Let’s rewrite this whole culture of “work, work, work, grind, grind, grind.”
And then you wake up at 60 realizing you never lived.
You never rested.
You never traveled.
You never took time for YOU.

How about we normalize:
🌴 Taking vacations
🧘🏽‍♀️ Refueling your mind and spirit
💖 Having careers that fulfill you on ALL levels
⏸️ Taking breaks without guilt
🌬️ And simply breathing

Because one thing I know for sure…
When you honor yourself, you will be happier. And a happier you will change EVERYTHING. 💛
