ONCE UPON A WASH...

There once was a strand of hair who had a secret. Buried deep, wash after wash, was a sneaky little villain named Buildup.

It's rainy season in Fort Myers, which means one thing: you WILL get caught in it. Usually five minutes after you walk out of your blowout.

My dog Draco came from GOFAR. I'd always gone the breeder route before him — pedigree, papers, the whole thing. Then I met a scrappy wanna-be Mini-German Shepherd who'd already been let down once. His trainer says he's "a bit too genius" and daycare - says he tolerates zero nonsense. Just like his dad - 😝. We know who really rescued who.

I'm writing this a day late.. Sorry, not sorry...

Draco and I spent the long weekend in Fort Lauderdale — good food, a few cocktails, view of the fireworks over the water, and Draco making a few new friends.
Very on-brand for him.

Six months ago he didn't exist in my life. Now I can't imagine a day without him. He came from a rescue called GOFAR (https://gofar.dog) — This teams people show up for animals when other would not.

This month I want to return the favor.

So we're doing Christmas in July at the studio. Drop off towels, blankets, toys, pet-safe cleaning supplies, kitty litter, or gift cards anytime you're in for your appointment. Every bit helps them keep doing what they do.

Summer in Southwest Florida is gorgeous. Until it isn't.

You know how it goes — you're in the chair, everything is going perfectly, and I can literally see it starting to drizzle out the window. Nothing stings more than investing in a blowout that should last all week... only to step outside into a drizzle. Or worse, a full downpour.

Lookin' Back

One of my clients came in this week.

Their child was with them. Home for the summer — just graduated college.

I've been doing that kid's hair since they were little.

I had to stop for a second. Because that's not just time passing — that's a relationship. A real one. The kind you don't plan for when you sign up for hair school on a whim and think "sure, why not."

I never imagined this. I really didn't.

I started with a full salon. A team. Assistants. The whole thing. And somewhere along the way I made a choice — one chair, one client, total focus. No distractions. Just you, and me, and whatever you need that day.

Some of you have been with me since 2009. We've done a lot of living together in that chair.

I don't have words big enough for that.
