Good afternoon beautiful people! I have thought long and hard about this post and figured it was time and couldn’t hurt so here goes. It seems that in the 4 decades I’ve been doing hair that a few of my clients have aged out and because of that I am now slower than I have been the past few years. Working in a Salon studio atmosphere doesn’t help much as the walk ins are close to none or very minimal. I have done social media some and love word of mouth however those avenues don’t always work. I do awesome work (long and short hair! Medium too!) and love color, especially blondes. I’m still working two jobs to make ends meet and would never have guessed that I would be working two jobs in my 60’s. I would love to solely be at my main job but still haven’t recouped the clientele I lost from COVID or breaking my thumb. So if anyone is looking for a new awesome stylist or maybe knows someone that is, please feel free to share my info, it would be totally appreciated. Thanks so much!

Happy Memorial Day! So here’s a short story that somewhat involves hair.
It’s funny that people assume that just because you do hair for a living that your also a pet groomer as when I tell people I have Re*****on groomed and they wonder why I don’t do it myself as I cut hair, that’s when I inform them that I only cut hair , on people’s heads and normally not on or around genitalia (dogs)😶. That usually ends the conversation (like my cop a feel charge) IYKYK🤣, so anyways on with the story, y’all know I’ve been growing out my beard since October, I actually achieved my goal in the length and look and I was able to keep it up myself until a certain length, I love to tell stories about being “shamed” as I have been skinny shamed , beard shamed and even dirty car shamed! LOL, so I normally don’t give a 💩about what people say about my beard but one day last week a comment kind of got to me and I was like eff it. I had just payed a few weeks ago to get it reshaped and did not want to spend 💲to get it reshaped a little shorter , so I figured I could do it, I watched a video by a well known Canadian barber and set upon the trim, well I did a little bit and was hmmmmm, not totally happy but dealt with it, well I kept going in the bathroom and looking at it and taking a little more off here and there and finally said egg again as by now it wasn’t sad, so I just took the clippers with a guard(everything was freehand, No guard before) and shaved it down with a #6. I did feel like crying lol, but told myself that’s silly and it will grow back. Now everyone who did not like it before likes it now because of the length, I just shrug my shoulders and tell them I’m starting over and there like “oh”, as you see this point in my life it is about me now, so my hair , my clothes, my facial hair , any jewelry I might want to wear well now this is all my authentic self, but I digress, so just because I’m an awesome cosmetologist doesn’t mean I can do everything, and I don’t want to, so I’ll leave it up to the professionals, like the awesome barbers and pet groomers!
