Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Extravaganza!

This recipe elevates your classic chocolate cake to new heights with rich, decadent layers, a creamy peanut butter filling, and a luxurious chocolate ganache. To finish it all off, it's topped with everyone's favorite candy - Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!

Ingredients:
For the Cake:

1 box chocolate cake mix (and its required ingredients, like oil, eggs, and water)
1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix (Optional)
1 extra egg (depending on your cake mix instructions)
For the Peanut Butter Filling:

2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 cups confectioners' sugar
4 tablespoons butter, melted
For the Chocolate Ganache:

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 pint heavy cream
For Garnish:

1 (8 oz.) bag mini Reese's peanut butter cups
Instructions:
Bake the Cake: Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Prepare the cake batter according to the cake mix instructions, adding the instant chocolate pudding mix (if using) and extra egg along with the wet ingredients. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for the recommended time, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely on a wire rack.

Make the Peanut Butter Filling: In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, confectioners' sugar, and melted butter until smooth and spreadable. Set aside.

Make the Chocolate Ganache: In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the heavy cream until simmering. Remove from the heat and pour over the chocolate chips in a heat-resistant bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk until smooth and glossy. Let the ganache cool slightly, until it reaches a thick pouring consistency.

Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes are cool, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread the peanut butter filling evenly over the top. Place the second cake layer on top. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.

Garnish and Serve: Decorate the top of the cake with mini Reese's peanut butter cups. Refrigerate the cake for at least 30 minutes before serving, to allow the ganache to set.
