I can't express how it feels to not be on here and get on to people reaching out to me to check on us.

I swear I feel like I've been trying to get it together for way too long but it's getting there.

Been a very bumpy road since we lost our home of 3 years, even before that if we are being honest, but to go through everything we did to end up starting all over again.. moved back to our hometown. Which we swore we would never do.

Was homeless for a few months.
Better than the time before when we were homeless for 18 months.

Now paying $950 a month on top of all the utilities, behind on loans, car payment, vehicles falling apart if they haven't already..

I wasn't even able to buy my kids clothes, shoes or supplies for school.

I have been really losing my mind for the past year for sure (shaving my head twice) but I'm not giving up even though I've thought about it several times.

Hi, I'm Samantha Simmons and I'm starting a fundraiser, long story cut short, to keep our family together(even though we have already had to split up by sending our three oldest to stay with their dad) & off the streets. If you know me, my family that I've created is all I have and without them I will have nothing. Come December 15th we have to be out of the house we've been in since December of 2020. I have known for over a year now that this was coming. Tried everything I could to keep us from being homeless again. Worked two jobs, trying to run a small business,. Even tried us both working at my last job. Still wasn't enough. Tried to get us a home through Habitat for Humanity, didn't get picked.
We were homeless for 18 months, lived in motels, walked back and forth to work no matter if there was rain, snow or sunshine. Before we made the move from Oklahoma to Arkansas, where we had the chance to stay at a rescue mission and get back on our feet. I have been on a waiting list for several months and still there's no room for us to go back there. My husband is the only working now until I can go back to work once our three youngest get into Head Start. Everything he brings home goes right back to keeping gas in the vehicles to get back and forth to work and kids to school, paying application fees, paying what bills we can, food since we still don't get food stamps, etc. I have never done this before and not sure if we will ever receive any help but it was brought to my attention that I should at least try to see if I can receive some assistance until we can get back on our feet. We just want to give our family a home to rent at least for Christmas this year, until we can afford to buy one that we can raise our children in and grow old together in. A forever home!
