5 years of VII Luxe, and we are just getting started!

For those who don’t know I have a ministry that is all about christian (Kingdom) marriage, helping people prepare, encouraging them on the journey, etc. My ministry has an annual conference that always takes place in July, and this year was no different.

But something happened this year that didn’t happen last year, it was like my whole life shifted, my whole perspective changed and I see life differently and I was so excited to come back here (to my business Instagram…somehow by God’s grace I have continued to gain clientele although I haven’t been posting*)

These last 5 years haven’t always been easy but God keeps giving me strength to keep going so here I am ready to continue the journey for another year if God allows!

Most new clients fall into two groups: those wanting a natural look with a little extra oomph, and those who crave bold, dramatic lashes. Hybrid and light volume lashes are the perfect middle ground. Many first-timers have only worn strip lashes—full and dramatic but temporary—so these lighter styles offer a wearable, everyday look that helps ease into the world of lash extensions.

They’re also a great way to discover what you truly love—whether that’s something softer, fuller, or right in between. Of course, if you already know mega volume is your vibe, I can create that too! But for most newbies, hybrid or light volume is the perfect way to start your lash journey.

After 5 years in the lash industry, I’ve created countless sets and tried all kinds of products — from gel pads and tape to humidifiers and dozens of lash brands. But through it all, there are always a few sets that truly hold my heart.

The first photo is hands down my favorite set I’ve ever done. I wasn’t sure it would turn out perfect while I was working on it, but when I finished… I fell completely in love!

The second photo marks the moment I finally found my groove with volume lashes. Before this, I was just doing my best and letting God handle the rest!

The last set happened just last month. The building lost power when I arrived at my suite, but I decided to lash anyway—and the results blew me away! It was a clear reminder of how far I’ve come on this journey, and I’m so proud of myself.

Being a business owner isn’t always rainbows and cotton candy, but I’m incredibly grateful for every client, every set, and every step forward. Celebrating all the small and big wins from here on out!

In the spirit of reintroducing myself, I want to share how I got into lashing!

Back in 2017, I was promoted to assistant manager — living the dream, or so I thought. But I was burned out, overworked, underpaid, and 100% unappreciated. All my hard work keeping the salon open through manager after manager went completely overlooked. I had ENOUGH! I knew it was time to leave, but I felt trapped and scared.

One day, while my lash tech was doing my lashes, I started asking her about lashing. She encouraged me to take a class but warned me it’s not for everyone. Still, she said I wouldn’t know until I tried. So, in March 2020, I took my lash training class — and just a few days later, the world shut down.

During the pandemic, I practiced making fans while watching TV, and just four months later, I launched my business!

Because we’re taking a stroll down memory lane I included my first set after getting certified, and my first set on my first client on my first day in business, and let’s just say THANK YOU JESUS for practice, growth, and giving myself GRACE!

Am I exactly where I want to be? Not yet. But I’m committed to the process, and I have a feeling things will turn around in June.
