For this guest, I customized both my foil placement and formulation based on her hair density, porosity, growth pattern, lifestyle, and long-term goals.

Why?

The hairline is often finer, more fragile, and more porous than the interior. Combined with body heat, it can lift faster than the rest of the hair. Adjusting developer strength helps me create a more balanced, predictable result.

While her foils processed, I also went in between previous highlights and hand-painted a Shades EQ gloss formulated two levels lighter than her natural color to soften old grow-out and restore dimension.

One of the biggest mistakes I see in blonding is allowing hair to become one solid color over time. Dimension creates movement, longevity, and a more natural grow-out.
