Finally got to do the color that I’ve been itching to do for years and it turned out even prettier than I’d imagined 😍

Happy new year everyone!

Here’s a recap of some of my favorite hair transformations of this past year. It was so hard to only choose a few!

DM me to schedule an appointment so you can add “new hair” to the “new year, new me” ;)

PSA to all my blondes out there… you can go darker without an all over color!

You may remember a post of mine from august where this client and I did a color correction that took three sessions to go blonde. We planned to do one more to get the last of the warmth out, but when she came in for that last session she told me that she realized blonde just wasn’t for her and wanted to do an all over dark color.

I said “mmmm… no.”

I don’t often tell people no, but I had this gut feeling that she would feel immediate regret if we did that all over color… and I was right ;)
I told her that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing, and we can go darker without undoing the months of work and hundreds of dollars spent to go blonde. We chose to do a reverse balayage to add darkness and depth back in, while still having some highlights for dimension.
It turned out more beautiful than we could have imagined and allows her to have the lower maintenance color that she desired :)

It’s been a long road, and I am SO proud of how far we’ve come. This color correction started back in may, and is the perfect example of “good things take time.” We started with a base of many colors, including red, black, blue, and purple… talk about a challenge! Three sessions later and she is officially blonde! We still have one more round to go to break through the last bit of warmth that remains, but I am way too proud of these results to wait another two months before I can show them off
