Since it's been awhile since I've run consistently and want to avoid injury, I'll be starting with the Hal Higdon 5k training plan. I love this plan because he incorporates rest days (which are so important because they give your muscles time to recover so you can run again).

I'll also be incorporating cross training days because I don't want to lose my muscle as I start running longer distances. Cross training is usually a lighter workout, like hitting the weights or going on a fast paced walk.

Here's a breakdown of what my training looks like!

After moving across the country, adopting two little ones and stepping down from my corporate job, I'm back! We've relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex and I'm training for my first race in awhile, the Justice Run, in October. I'll be posting my training plan so if you'd like to train along with me, I'd love to have you join me!
