I’ve decided we’re making this a thing around here… maybe weekly, maybe every other week, but I have 15 years of spray tan stories and apparently it’s time y’all heard some of them. 😂
So let me tell you about the time a first-time spray tan client accidentally put LOTION ALL OVER HER FRESH, WET SPRAY TAN. 😳😂
Y’all… she basically moisturized an entire fresh spray tan before it had even had a chance to develop. 😂
Thankfully, we were able to get her through it, but it definitely became one of those “well, I’m never forgetting THAT again” moments for me!
And honestly, it’s a good reminder that if you’re ever unsure about something during or after your appointment—ASK ME! I would much rather you ask me 47 questions than accidentally turn your fresh spray tan into a science experiment. 😂🤎

🚿 PLEASE DON’T SHOWER RIGHT BEFORE YOUR SPRAY TAN! 🚿
I know it feels like the right thing to do… “I want to be super clean for my appointment!” 🙌🏼 But actually, hopping out of the shower and straight into your spray tan can do more harm than good.
The water coming out of your shower contains minerals, chemicals, and other things that can temporarily affect the pH balance of your skin. Your skin’s pH plays a role in how your spray tan solution develops, so applying solution immediately after a shower can potentially interfere with your tan and affect how evenly and beautifully it develops.
And then there’s the moisture! Freshly showered skin can still have water sitting on the surface, which can make it harder for your solution to properly absorb.
✨ My recommendation: Give your skin AT LEAST 4 hours between your shower and your spray tan appointment. Even better? Shower, exfoliate, and prep the day before whenever possible!
So yes… I’m actually telling you DON’T shower right before you come see me. 😂
Clean skin? YES.
Freshly showered 10 minutes ago? Nope. 😂
